June is Acne Awareness Month, and I wanted to share a little bit of my story.

To be honest, I was nervous about posting this.

For as long as I can remember, I’ve struggled with acne. Through my teen years and into adulthood, I’ve dealt with inflammatory acne, bacterial acne, hormonal acne, and Post-Inflammatory Erythema (PIE)—the red marks that can linger long after a breakout has healed.

Like many people, I’ve spent years trying products, researching ingredients, changing routines, and searching for the “perfect” solution. Along the way, I experienced the frustration and insecurity that can come with not feeling comfortable in your own skin.

My acne journey is one of the reasons I became an esthetician. What started as a personal struggle grew into a passion for understanding skin health. Working with skin every day has taught me so much about my own, and it continues to inspire me to learn more.

Through education, experience, and a lot of trial and error, I’ve learned that healthy skin doesn’t always mean flawless skin. Some days my skin is clear, some days it isn’t—and both are okay. I’ve learned to appreciate progress instead of chasing perfection.

One of the most rewarding parts of being an esthetician is helping others better understand their skin. I’m dedicated to continuing my education and helping my clients feel confident and empowered in their skin, no matter where they are in their journey.
