One of the biggest bridal hair myths is that dirty hair is better for updos. But in reality, clean, dry hair almost always gives us the best foundation to work with.

Here’s why:

When most people picture their dream hairstyle, they’re thinking of soft volume, fullness, and movement. Which is easier to create—that same look on freshly washed hair or hair that’s four days old?

Freshly washed hair.

As your hair gets oily, the natural oils coat the hair shaft, making it heavier and causing it to sit flatter against your head. That makes it much harder to create lasting volume at the roots.

The good news? We have incredible professional products that let us build the exact amount of grip, texture, and hold your style needs—without relying on days of oil buildup.
