Should a sitting Mayor be allowed to skip the rules and heritage guidelines protecting downtown Fort Langley? We don't think so.

Please sign and share this active petition to encourage the current Township of Langley Mayor and council to revisit the Glover,Mary,Church (GMC) development..... or don't. But please know that silence is often misunderstood as consent.

Unless you say or do SOMETHING, this huge project moves ahead. Time to speak up against a monstrosity development (GMC = Glover /Mary/Church) in the heart of Fort Langley:

🚨The development that is owned by Mayor Eric Woodward.

🚨 The one that was approved for 46 residential units in a 2 storey building but has now morphed into a 76 unit THREE STOREY building..... with no new applications.

🚨 The one with NO new heritage approvals required AND no updated amenity fees required????!!!....... can you imagine a 3 storey 76 unit apartment building in DOWNTOWN Fort Langley? Seriously?!

🚨 No public hearing held or required?

🚨 Parking alone will be a nightmare for this project, for residents and businesses alike.

PLEASE SIGN THIS PETITION asking the Mayor and council to revisit this project and protect the integrity and heritage value of downtown Fort Langley ...... >>>>> https://www.heritagewatchbc.ca/petitions/glover-road-hap-2025

In case anybody wanted to see "proof" that the current Mayor and 2 of his slate members had a closed meeting to approve the Township of Langley tax payers money ($500,000) be used to pay THEIR personal litigation/legal bill.

It's on the agenda today for the Council Meeting (starts at 1:30pm.) This is the last council meeting until AFTER the October election. An election that absolutely needs to push out this slate.

For the love of all things decent, honest and integral, please vote on October 17, 2026.

Do NOT sit this one out and hope it will sort itself out.

❌ Silence can be mistaken for consent.

✅ Township of Langley needs unbiased, transparent representation. Not this.

***UPDATED*** 🔥 BC is on fire... literally. And our Mayor shut down our emergency backup wells in Township of Langley.

🚨 Update: to include the water presentation made by Cheryl Wiens to TOL Council earlier this year:

Global News is reporting today that BC officials are bracing for a surge in wildfire activity driven by dry lightning; the kind where rain evaporates before it even hits the ground. Environment Canada is warning that a single day could see up to 150 new fire starts across the southern Interior. Fire bans are already in effect across multiple fire centres, and the Brunswick complex is still burning.

⚠️ This is not a distant threat. The Fraser Valley — our valley — sits in a region that has seen devastating fire seasons, and the conditions right now are as dangerous as they've been in years.

So here's what I keep thinking about:

❌Our Mayor, Eric Woodward (and his slate), made the decision to shut down the Township of Langley's emergency backup water wells; the wells that exist precisely for situations where our primary water supply is compromised. In a wildfire emergency, those wells aren't a backup plan. They are the plan.

When firefighters need water pressure and volume to protect homes and neighbourhoods, when the grid is stressed or infrastructure is damaged, those backup wells are what stand between a contained fire and a catastrophe.

I'm not saying a wildfire is imminent in Langley. I'm saying that emergency infrastructure exists for the moments when everything goes wrong at once.

That's the whole point.

BC is bone dry. Lightning is sparking fires across the province. And we no longer have our emergency wells.

✔️ I'd like an answer for that. Wouldn't you?
