A lil Saturday evening
You would be surprised by how many dust bunnies sheets make π
Not only do I try to provide a relaxing environment, I try to provide a safe and clean one as well. Between each client I wipe down the table, lotion, pillows, and high touch points making sure everyone is getting a clean room when they come to visit. Once a week I focus on pulling out furniture, high dusting, cleaning walls and giving a good scrub to what needs it in one area of the clinic meaning the each space is deep cleaned in a 5-6 week rotation.
You deserve a space with fresh air, good vibes, and no worries of germs and that is what I strive to provide π§Όπ§½π«§

ποΈπ’ New feature alert at Natural Point Therapy!
You ever having one of those days where all you want is peace and quiet?
Maybe you and your RMT usually chat and have great conversations so you don't feel comfortable asking for the quiet because you are worried it will offend them.
Well, I have integrated a new opportunity to express your needs without any words. Located at the far side of the treatment room is a light and remote. If you are feeling chatty leave the light on. If you want quiet simply click the "OFF" button on the remote and all you will hear is music and turn over queues.
Your experience is important to me and I hope this makes you feel safe to ask for what you need treatment to treatment π
Side note:
The light is colour changing. Do we think there should also be a feelings wheel colour code so you can set the tone of conversation with the light?

Always have the same pain and nothing seems to help?
The answer might be in your muscles but it might be deeper than that.
Recently there has been an increase in research relating to the somatic nervous system and how it plays a part in our trauma storage. The somatic nervous system is the one you are in charge of. It dictates movements and might be one of the foundation of trauma and physical healing. This is why we are seeing such an influx of somatic based practices. Traditionally, pre-dating this research many cultures have observed that certain areas of the body and certain systems within the body are correlated with what we hold in our emotional and energetic systems. This is why an acupuncture needle placed in your thumb can assist your hormones and why releasing the emotions associated with grief can relieve upper back and chest pain.
These energetic systems might not be the full picture but they might just be the something different that helps you better understand the reoccurring pain you experience.
If you are interested in how certain energy is held in the body follow along.
If you are interested how this plays into your life in particular come try a mindful massage. Where together we will slow down and help you connect with your body and understand your pain better π

Summer Hours Drop βοΈ
After 7 years of working as an RMT I still am adjusting and adapting my schedule. I am constantly playing to see what works best not only for me but also for you. So, this summer is a little different. I usually don't offer any weekends during these busy months but after seeing the July booking trends I have made it so August includes a Saturday EVERY WEEK!
I am always watching to see what is and isn't working for you so don't be too surprised when you see schedule shifts and changes.
I look forward to seeing you all summer long β±οΈβοΈπββοΈπββοΈ
What is your massage time archetype?

Okay, let's be honest... you have SO MANY clinics you can choose from and on top of that so many practitioners. So, why would you choose a massage with me at Natural Point Therapy?
There are a few things I think I do that you might not be used to with your average massage.
β¨οΈ First of all, the vibes. I could have every room in my clinic rented out with a busy and buzzy space but I have opted to do something different. Instead of filling rooms with bodies I have filled them with intention. The treatment room is in the middle of the clinic because it is the quietest room. I have dedicated the front room where the sun comes in to a lounge where you can get cozy and enjoy a complimentary beverage. I also don't have a bulky front desk because I wanted to remove barriers between us.
π¬ Breathwork is a big part of massage for me. If something feels painful or stuck I think it is better to focus the breath into it than plow through it. Don't get me wrong some people still love their super elbow heavy treatment but I just don't feel like it is a necessity for release.
π I don't rush through cleanup. I use the time between clients to reset the space so you are coming into an energy that is just for you.
π I have a quiet office companion who if you are lucky will try to give you hugs π« and if you don't like dogs he is tucked away in his own room and won't bother you.
π§ I am a space holder. I don't see you as a bottom line. I see you as a person going through life's ups and downs and I welcome your laughter, tears, and rants. Whatever helps you move through your emotions is welcome.
πββοΈ I am constantly listening to your body. If I don't ask about pressure it isn't because I don't care it is because I am in communication with your body and its cues from the second you hit the table.
π I am a horrible business owner. My business model is a NIGHTMARE to money focused business owners because my goal is for you to not need me. I want to see you feel so good you only come in because you want to not need to.
At the end of the day I just want to see you be well π
Hey!
My name is Erin and I am the owner of Natural Point Therapy πββοΈπββοΈ
I have owned the clinic since 2019 and have been working in Langley since I graduated π massage πββοΈ school π« in 2018.
At work I focus on providing a safe space for you to come and let go of the stresses of life. Through manual massage techniques, guided breathing, and meditation (in mindful massages) I help patients reconnect with their bodies and release in ways they may not have thought possible. I am dedicated to constantly learning and growing my practice. Every treatment is unique to you and what you are experiencing when you come in THAT day.
In my time off I lead a very full and active life. Currently my movement hobbies are Yoga ( Asana/Movement practice), running, weightlifting, hiking, and riding my bike. When I'm not exercising my body I enjoy exercising my mind with reading, baking, playing with my dog (FP who also comes to work with me) π and cat π (Sylvester. Who has recently been nicknamed the phantom of the Opera because he roams the halls singing all night long), and gardening. I also have a, albeit inconsistent, meditation practice that I am using to help me learn to slowww down π and continue to connect with all levels of my being β¨οΈ
Things I am learning in this season of my life:
~How to better manage stress and symptoms of chronic illness.
~How to balance work and life better
~What financial freedom looks like to me
~How to let others help me
~What being my true self looks like
I hope to see you soon so I can get to know you better π

I am a little late on a lot of celebrations this year.
May marked not only the 2 year anniversary of the Mindful Massage but also my 8th year of practice as a Registered Massage Therapist.
June also marked the 7th year anniversary of Natural Point Therapy!
Sometimes, life moves so fast that you forget to slow down and celebrate the little and big things that you are blessed to experience each day.
So, in this moment of slow I want to send my deep love and appreciation to those who have supported me since school, since my first job as a massage therapist, since the opening of this clinic, and the introduction of a treatment that asked for vulnerability and connection ππΎ
Thank you for showing up and for allowing me to show up for you for the past 7 years π
Cheering for you always,
Erin Martin, RMT, YT, & Owner of Natural Point Therapy
