Officially 5 years Sober. I’ve been telling people I’m 5 years sober for months now, which has made the last couple months more difficult. I’ve been having the urge to drink lately because of this. I’ve been living in the future too much, and that’s making the present harder to live in. Stay present each day for yourself and for the others in your life. You can’t foresee the future, or change the past. Work on having the “Win each day mentality” as if we can do that, we will be successful long term.

Be honest, do you own all the movements in your workout 🏋️♀️ ? If not, take a step back in order to move forward.
To have a strong structure, spend the time on your foundation. Keep building brick by brick 🧱 and you’ll get there.
Once you can crush the basics, then you get the key 🔑 to unlock dynamic movements.

Lifting isn’t going to be an option for me at this time due to medical reasons. Unfortunately, Injuries 🤕 are a part of the game. They can break you mentally if you let them. Once your injured your stuck immediately at a crossroads❌. Either quit (easy choice considering you have a built in excuse), or change course. If there’s one thing COVID has taught me its to be adaptable. Don’t get stuck in one set way, because the path can change in a instant, and I’m blazing a new one as we speak. I’m hurt, not dead☠️ . I Just have to reroute and refocus and press on.

🚨🚨Well it’s that time of year again. New year, new you? ⛔️ I’m Sorry that’s way to cheesy for me to get behind! How about looking beyond the idea of a new year, and find a genuine individualized reason to start taking control of your health. ✅
Do you really want this to be the year you start living a healthy life?
Then first things first, you have to figure out why the hell your getting into shape?
◾️Is it because you’ve seen your parents live an unhealthy life and you want to break the trend?
◾️Are you wanting to teach your kids to live a healthy life by modelling this behaviour?
◾️Or did you or someone you know have a health scare, that put your life into perspective?
Find a REAL reason and burn it into your brain!
Think about that very reason when your on your last set, last rep, last second, and most importantly on those days where getting to the gym is an incredible struggle both mentally and physically.
✔️One rule, your reason has to be stronger than your excuses.
So instead of thinking you should start a new healthy routine because it’s a new year; dig deeper. Find that motivation, overcome your doubts, and show up for yourself today and every day going forward. 📈💯✊🏼
