Back from the show and back to adding handles to mugs and teaching. Handles are time consuming but I also find them satisfying to make.

It's been a long time! After breaking my foot, it took me a while to get back into a rhythm. I had a gazillion ideas flitting through my head but I really wanted to get back to handbuilding, my first love, and to explore this process. The second in the series, this one coil built vase is smaller than its predecessor. This one has a silky glaze instead of raw clay. It took a long time to make, as it was an intuitive process. I can't wait to make more of these in the future. I'd love to know what it makes you think of.

This hoya finally bloomed after 6 years. It started as a few stems gifted to me by a friend in a ceramics workshop and lived in the sweet vase by for 15 years. It bloomed twice a year but wasn't much of a plant. During covid, I planted it in soil and mcgyvered a trellis with some vines I had collected, a hanger and some beeswax wrap cut in strips. These fine little flowers grow in clusters and when open they smell like floral honey. I'm hoping this is the beginning of a regular flowering cycle because their appearance fills me with awe.

I'm happy to say my foot is on the mend. While I miss walking on the mountain in the spring and taking in the trees and flowers awakening, I can at least enjoy my garden perennials in bloom.
On of my favourite plants is a ground cover called bugleweed/ajuga. I love its sweet little purple flowers and deep green leaves.
While prepping for a photo shoot this morning, I spotted them and knew they'd look perfect in my Moody Blue Blue bud vase. DM me for details.
The second pic is a gorgeous allium growing around the corner from my house. I love spring 🌺!

The last few weeks I've had an intern from Holland documenting me working in the studio. It's been a pleasure having her. Thank you Dominique.
