Now that I am pregnant I have to avoid alot of ingredients that I use everyday such as retinols, retinoids and salicylic acid. This is pretty much devastating to me as lots of my skincare had these ingredients in them. However there are alternatives to these ingredients and one of them being ENZYMES! Enzymes don't get enough credit, or maybe I just don't talk about them enough, but I do use them everyday in the treatment room.
What are they?
Enzymes are found in fruit acids and their main function is to breakdown the keratin protein in the upper layers of the skin to promote cell renewal in - layman's terms, this helps with exfoliating the skin and allowing the skin to reveal brighter fresher skin . Yay for enzymes!!!.
