On National Indigenous Peoples Day, we pause to recognize and celebrate the cultures, traditions, histories, and contributions of Indigenous peoples across Canada.

For Søle, this day is also a meaningful reflection of our own story. Our family roots include Sámi ancestry. The Sámi are the Indigenous people of northern Scandinavia, with a rich cultural heritage that spans Norway, Sweden, Finland, and the Kola Peninsula.

The Nordic traditions that inspire Søle are deeply connected to nature, seasonal rhythms, community, and resilience, values that have been carried forward through generations. While Søle is first and foremost a Nordic wellness space, we are grateful for the cultural heritage that helped shape our vision and appreciation for the restorative power of nature.

Today we honour Indigenous peoples across Canada, the Sámi people of the North, and all those who continue to preserve and share their traditions, languages, and stories.
