At Home Tips for Dry Eye
• Take an Omega-3 Supplement (message us for details on how to pick one that will actually work and won’t give you fish burps!)
• Keep your eyelids clean! Using a daily eye cleanser will ensure no bacteria sticks around and causes any infections.
• Have a preservative-free artificial tear to use as needed!
• Get more rest! Our whole body appreciates a good sleep, including your eyes.
• Blink more frequently, especially if you spend a lot of time looking at a screen!

Want an easy way to help reduce Dry Eye symptoms?
The Bruder Moist Heat Eye Compress targets the Meibomian Glands, responsible for the oil layer of our tear film. This moist-heat encourages natural oils to flow back onto the eye to reduce discomfort and slow tear evaporation.
• Microwave for 20-30 seconds and apply to the eyes for 5-10 minutes. Follow with 20-30 hard blinks to get the oil moving. It's as easy as that!
• The compress will help stabilize the tear film, and help improve overall function of the glands!
• We recommend to use this in the AM and PM for the best results!

This patient came in with a concern of a painful and swollen lesion on the lower right lid. After some testing, it was determined an external hordeolum (similar to a sty) had developed. We decided to treat this particular lesion, due to its advanced stage, with a thorough Zocular cleanse, and an IPL treatment, which are explained below!!

• Zocular Cleanse: Is a thorough and effective cleanse of the lid margins and lashes. We use Zocushield, an okra-based cleanser, which easily removes any dirt, oil, makeup or bacteria that could cause demodex or infections.
• Intense Pulsed Light (IPL): A light based therapy, with anti-microbial, anti-inflammatory, and anti-telangiectatic properties, which make it very effective for treating Dry Eye, sty's, chalazions and hordeolum's.

After just one treatment this patient had no pain, and swelling had almost reduced to nothing!
