Over the 38 years of business at The Cutting Company Hair Salon our family has had the pleasure of working with some of the most amazing, talented stylists. Many have become more than co-workers and we cherish these relationships. We have witnessed exceptional stylists blossom into incredible professionals, leaders and entrepreneurs.

We have also had the privilege of meeting and “growing up” with so many wonderful clients. We have seen generations of clients pass through our doors and we remain grateful for their loyalty and support of our small business. We have helped clients celebrate many graduations, engagements, promotions, weddings, new life, retirements and other happy milestones. We have also been there behind the chair when our clients have faced challenges and grief. Our hope throughout the years was that all who entered our doors would leave our salon feeling better.

It has been an honour to be a part of the tapestry of this incredible neighbourhood and city. The community within and outside these walls is simply phenomenal. Owning the building and the hair salon has been good to our family over the years and we will cherish the memories. Although we are not retiring, we are retiring from the hair salon industry. It’s been a wonderful and crazy ride and now we’ve made the decision to focus on our real estate business and spend more time with family. The time has come for us to let someone else enjoy and thrive in this space. We plan to lease this space to another business in the coming months.

We are forever grateful to my parents for providing the opportunity to carry on the business and for their unending support and encouragement all throughout our ownership, and now, in our closure.

We end with profound gratitude to our team, our exceptional manager, clients, suppliers and neighbours. Our goal is to finish well and honour my parent’s legacy in starting this business from the ground up and loving on this historic White House on the corner of 13th and 6th.
