My name is Kellie Johnson
My love for hair started when I was 6, visiting my mother when she attended the L.A School of Beauty & Hair Design here in Lethbridge, the same place my father Trevor Kohlman (of Mops, Fuel and Waves) attended. I started working as a receptionist for my father at Fuel in my early teens to get an idea of the industry and my mind was set instantly that this was the only thing I ever wanted to do. Not just in the sence that they looked different, but they carried themselves differently, they were more confident in themselves, they had more pride in themselves and I wanted to do that for people, I wanted to be the reason behind it. I started my schooling at L.A under the instruction of Colleen Lybbert and Tracy Grunsky in October of 2011, and learned so many wonderful things from them, afterwards I began my apprenticeship at Be***rs Fun Cuts for Kids (Lethbridge) where I worked for 4.5 years before the closure and managed the salon for a year and a half. Be***rs taught me so many things that no other salon could including patience, understanding, time management and multitasking. I think it as the best starting place for me. After the closure, on search for a new salon that gave me the same feeling when I walked in as Be***rs did, I came across Bleach a relatively new salon with a laid back atmosphere, awesome girls and a wicked location and fell in love with it. Started there mid October and hopefully have many wonderful years at this salon too. My real passion lies in coloring and styling though. I love how color can completely change the look and there are endless possibilities. I love hair, I love my career, my clients. I just want to make everyone feel as beautiful as they are inside.
