Your body has a way of telling you when it needs a little extra care. 🤎

Maybe that tension in your neck and shoulders keeps creeping back. Maybe you’re not sleeping as well as usual, or stress seems to be showing up physically in your body.

These are all signs it may be time to book your next massage:

✨ Persistent tension — tight, sore or achy muscles that just won’t settle down
✨ Poor sleep — difficulty relaxing, falling asleep or waking up feeling rested
✨ Increased stress — feeling overwhelmed, irritable or mentally drained while your body holds onto that tension

Massage doesn’t have to wait until you’re in significant pain. Regular treatments can be part of taking care of your body before tension and discomfort start interfering with your day.

🌿 Your body gives you signs — listen to them.

Ready for your next treatment? Book ahead to get a time that works best with your schedule.

SCAR RELEASE THERAPY

Using Dolphin Neurostim Microcurrent

Scars can affect more than what we see on the surface. Scar tissue may contribute to areas of tightness, sensitivity, restriction and discomfort long after the original injury or surgery has healed.

At Vital Balance Therapeutic Massage, Dolphin Neurostim microcurrent can be incorporated into scar treatment to help support the healing process and improve the mobility and comfort of scar tissue.

Scar treatment may help with:

* Improving scar mobility and pliability
* Reducing tightness and restriction surrounding the scar
* Decreasing scar-related sensitivity or discomfort
* Supporting circulation and the healing process
* Addressing restrictions that may be felt beyond the immediate scar area

Dolphin treatment uses simultaneous microcurrent stimulation at two points surrounding the scar. Treatment is gentle and non-invasive, and changes in the feel, mobility and appearance of the scar may sometimes be noticed during or following treatment.

Scar Release Therapy can be used with many types of healed scars, including C-section, abdominal surgery, appendectomy, gallbladder, hernia, breast surgery, mastectomy and cosmetic surgery scars, as well as scars resulting from injury or trauma.

Every scar is different. The number of treatments recommended will depend on factors such as the age, depth, size and healing of the scar, as well as how your body responds to treatment.

Have a scar that still feels tight, sensitive or restricted?
Ask me whether Dolphin Scar Release Therapy could be incorporated into your next treatment.

ATTENTION! Fall hours have changed and I have moved my evenings to Wednesdays! Kids activity schedules needed the adjustment to my schedule ha!

Treatment highlights - What is the Dolphin Neurostim? It’s a handheld device that delivers gentle microcurrent to specific areas. At Vital Balance, I can use it in three ways, depending on your goals:

• With therapeutic massage: Targeted stimulation at areas of discomfort, including areas affected by nerve pain, alongside hands-on treatment.

• Vagus nerve stimulation (VNS): Gentle stimulation at the ear as part of a treatment focused on relaxation and stress support.

• Scar Release Therapy (SRT): Focused treatment around a healed scar when the area feels tight, sensitive, or uncomfortable.

Every treatment is tailored to you. Please don’t hesitate to message me with any questions! 🤎

DAYTIME MASSAGE — because self-care doesn’t have to wait until the end of the day

One of the perks of a daytime appointment? You get to take care of yourself before you’re completely exhausted.

Whether you work shifts, have a flexible schedule, are home during the day, have kids in school, or simply prefer quieter daytime appointments, booking your massage during the day can make it much easier to stay consistent with your treatments.

Daytime appointments can mean:

• Less rushing at the end of an already busy day
• Time to reset before school pickup or evening activities
• More opportunity to rest and hydrate afterward
• Getting ahead of tension and discomfort instead of waiting until it becomes hard to ignore
• Making massage a regular part of your schedule—not just something you try to squeeze in when you’re hurting

And for those who can’t make daytime appointments work, I also offer one evening each week so there’s still an after-work option available.

My schedule can fill up quickly—especially evening appointments—so booking ahead and rebooking before you leave is the best way to get the days and times that work for you.

You don’t have to be an athlete to benefit from regular massage. Everyday life—working, parenting, gardening, driving and stress—can all take a toll on your body.

Regular massage may help ease muscle tension, support mobility, encourage relaxation and keep everyday aches from building.

Booking ahead makes massage part of your routine and helps secure appointment times that work best for both of our schedules. Your body doesn’t need to wait until it hurts. 🤎

Have you heard of RAPID NeuroFascial Reset?

RAPID is an active, movement-based treatment designed to address painful or sensitive areas involving the muscles, fascia, tendons, ligaments and nerves.

Unlike a traditional massage, you’ll be asked to actively move while I apply focused pressure to the area being treated. The treatment can feel intense, but pressure is always adjusted to your comfort and tolerance.

RAPID may help reduce pain and tension, improve mobility and make everyday movement feel more comfortable.

I am currently certified in RAPID Upper Body and can incorporate these techniques into your treatment when appropriate for your needs.

Curious whether RAPID could be a good addition to your next appointment? Send me a message or ask at your next visit!

I’m the face behind Vital Balance Therapeutic Massage, and I thought it was time to share a little more about who I am — and what you can expect when you book a treatment with me. 🤎

I’m Katherine, and I’ve been a Registered Massage Therapist for 15 years. I also hold a Bachelor of Science in Human Ecology and have spent the past 10 years as an instructor with ACMT, helping educate and support future massage therapists. Massage therapy has been a big part of my life for a long time, and my approach has continued to develop along with my experience.

I believe treatment should be individual to the person on the table. Your body, lifestyle, concerns and goals are unique, so your massage shouldn’t feel like a one-size-fits-all routine. I draw from a variety of massage techniques and therapeutic modalities, adapting each appointment to what your body needs that day.

That might mean focusing on pain relief, mobility or injury recovery, or it may mean stress management, maintenance and simply helping you feel better in your body. My goal is to provide care that is therapeutic, thoughtful and specific to you.

Outside of Vital Balance and the classroom, I’m also a wife to a wonderful husband, mom to two little girls, and a member of two community boards. Between family, teaching, my practice and community involvement, I understand how busy life can get — and how important it is to make room for your own well-being too.

Even after 15 years as an RMT, I still love being able to help people move better, feel better and create a little more balance in their lives.

Thank you for choosing me to be part of your health and wellness journey. 🤎

Do you need to be in pain to book a massage? Absolutely not! 🤎

Massage doesn’t have to be something you wait for until your neck is screaming, your shoulders are up to your ears, or that nagging tension has officially taken over.

Regular massage can help you stay ahead of those aches and pains by managing tension before it builds up. It’s much easier to maintain how your body is feeling than to wait until you’re uncomfortable and try to get back to square one.

✨ A little reminder to book ahead!
Pre-booking your appointments helps:
• Keep your treatments consistent
• Reduce the chance of getting overly sore between visits
• Make self-care part of your routine
• Make sure your appointments fit your schedule AND mine — especially those popular evening times!

September is already filling up, so if you know you’ll want a massage this month, don’t wait until your body is begging for one. 😉

Take care of yourself before you need to.
Book ahead and save your spot. 🤎🌿
