Nurse Practitioners are helping more Ontarians access timely assessment, diagnosis, treatment, and ongoing care—but their role is still often misunderstood.

Our latest blog explores what NPs are authorized to do, their growing role in mental health and private practice, and why quality care should be measured by competence, ethics, and thoroughness—not professional hierarchy.

Emotional regulation can look different for autistic children and youth.

When sensory and social input become overwhelming, emotions can escalate quickly. That is not drama or defiance—it's a nervous system needing support.

Anh shares four helpful reminders:

• Notice early signs
• Have a plan ready
• Use fewer words and more space
• Allow recovery time

Support is not about forcing calm. It is about helping each young person regulate in their own way.

Today can bring up a lot of different feelings.

For some, Canada Day is a time to gather, rest, celebrate community, and feel grateful for the place we call home.

For others, this day brings grief, anger, discomfort, or complicated feelings because of Canada’s history of colonization and the ongoing injustices faced by Indigenous Peoples.

Both can be true.

At Embodied Resilience Wellness Clinic, we believe celebration should not require us to look away from harm. We can care about this country while also staying honest about the work that is still needed.

Today, we hope there is space for reflection, connection, listening, learning, and meaningful action.

Happy Father’s Day from Embodied Resilience Wellness Clinic 💛

Today we’re thinking of all the fathers, father figures, grandfathers, stepdads, caregivers, and people showing up with love in the ways they can.

Fatherhood can hold so much: joy, pressure, responsibility, grief, growth, repair, and quiet effort that often goes unseen.

To the fathers doing their best, learning as they go, supporting their families, and trying to build connection in a world that does not always make space for emotional honesty — we see you.

Your care matters. Your effort matters. Your presence matters.

Happy Father’s Day.

Today is National Indigenous Peoples Day — a day to honour the history, heritage, resilience, and diversity of First Nations, Inuit, and Métis peoples across Canada.

At Embodied Resilience Wellness Clinic, we are taking time to reflect, learn, listen, and recognize the ongoing strength, leadership, knowledge, and contributions of Indigenous communities.

May this day be one of celebration, respect, and continued commitment to learning beyond a single post.

When a plan changes, sometimes your whole brain just goes: “Absolutely not.”

Rob recorded this in the middle of that exact feeling — angry, frustrated, thrown off, and trying not to let the whole day disappear because one plan fell through.

Sometimes saying it out loud helps. Not because it magically fixes it, but because it gives the feeling somewhere to go.

If this feels familiar, you are not alone.

Our psychotherapy team can support with ADHD, Autism, AuDHD, emotional regulation, burnout, frustration, and nervous system overwhelm.
