Good morning. I underwent my procedure yesterday and they successfully drained the fluid from my stomach, removing 7.6 liters, which has significantly improved my breathing and mobility. I was unaware that protein deficiency could lead to such an accumulation. I will now focus on increasing my protein intake to aid in the healing process. Good day everyone, I wanted to provide a brief update. Since undergoing radiation therapy, I have been experiencing significant challenges, including considerable pain and general unwellness. I have started retaining fluid in my stomach, which is causing discomfort due to swelling and pressure on the tumor. I was admitted to Medicine Hat hospital yesterday, and the medical team plans to drain the fluid tomorrow in an effort to alleviate my symptoms. I am uncertain about my return-to-work timeline, but I am hopeful it will be soon. 😊

Update on my current health status: I returned to Saskatoon and underwent my initial radiation treatment on November 14th, followed by a brief weekend at home and then another series of daily treatments from Monday to Thursday. The treatments themselves were painless. However, I had been experiencing persistent vomiting for approximately two weeks prior, which unfortunately did not improve after the radiation therapy. The pain became unbearable for a few days, but medication provided relief. The radiation caused swelling and inflammation, which should subside over time, and it is hoped that the targeted tumor will shrink, alleviating pressure on the duodenum and enabling a return to regular eating habits. I am hoping to recover within another week and gradually return to a sense of normalcy and resume work. I miss you all and extend my sincere gratitude to everyone who has been supporting me; I appreciate your help more than words can express. ❤️

Good morning, I have returned home from a successful trip to Cuba, where I attended a scheduled doctor's appointment and received an updated treatment protocol. I also had a phone consultation with my new oncologist in Saskatoon to discuss radiation therapy. I am scheduled to commence treatment this Thursday, with five sessions planned, starting on Friday, and expected to be completed by next week. According to my doctor, this treatment aims to alleviate the tumor pressure on my duodenum stent, which has been causing discomfort and stomach issues. I anticipate taking a two-week leave of absence from work following the treatment. I have decided not to proceed with another round of chemotherapy at this time. Good morning everyone, I wanted to provide a brief update regarding my recent medical procedures. Over the past few weeks, I have undergone several treatments, including the placement of a stent in my duodenum, which was quite painful for approximately a week. However, I am now able to eat more comfortably, which is a welcome improvement. On Monday, I underwent an angiogram performed through my wrist, and fortunately, the results indicated that I have a strong and healthy heart. On Tuesday, I underwent a CT scan, which revealed some progression of the cancer, although the exact extent is unclear due to the absence of measurements. I will need to consult with my oncologist to determine the next course of action. On a separate note, I have scheduled my next trip to Cuba for November 1st to 8th, where I will be meeting with the doctor. Minor update: I have met with the cardiologist and am scheduled for a cardio angiogram on October 6th, with instructions to prepare for a potential overnight stay in the event of a blockage detection. Following the recent stent placement in my duodenum, which proved painful and triggered adverse reactions to the anesthesia, I am presently recuperating. My intention is to maintain a low profile for the next couple of days, focusing on nutritional intake and rebuilding my strength. I extend gratitude to everyone for their inquiries and appreciate the attentive care provided by my daughter during my stay in Saskatoon.

We mistake loss for the end of love. We hold onto people and places and wrap ourselves in stories… and then when the people leave or the places change, we think love is gone too. Because we associated our worth with the feeling of being loved. But love didnt ‘come’ or ‘go’. It was never a possession to begin with. Maybe it was life, always there, reminding us what we’re already made of so it could transform itself through our experience. So it could move through us in new forms. I see ending as the engine of renewal. Nature shows that to me consistently. Cells die so that others may form, forests burn so that their seeds can take root, a mother’s body tears for her child to arrive. Life renews itself by surrendering its forms, continuously. And we are no different. Again and again, I surrender the identities that I once thought defined me and the people I held onto beyond their time. I let them drift back into the spiral, so life can keep carving me open and so love can always find my heart, unguarded. I lay down the heavy armours and old skins that no longer fit, so that I may grow freely and be remade, again and again, closer each time to what’s real. Everything we touch is passing, as we too are passing through all we touch.

If your children are interested in attending this event, I have made arrangements with both schools to excuse them from class, provided they notify their teachers in advance and i have arrange for transportation to and from the event. If you inform me, we can arrange for their pickup and drop-off in time for afternoon classes.

Good morning, I am providing a brief update on my treatments. I will be traveling to Saskatoon on Tuesday night for a cardiology appointment to undergo heart testing, followed by an endoscopy on Wednesday. I have been experiencing difficulties with eating, and the medical team will assess whether dilation or stent placement of the duodenum is feasible. Given the chest pains I experienced after the last two chemo treatments, the heart specialist will evaluate whether I have developed a heart condition as a result of chemotherapy. My last chemotherapy session was on July 14th, and my next appointment is scheduled for November 10th Presently, I am feeling well and plan to work September 30 to October 3. I’m taking it one day at a time and staying busy 😁
