I have had a bunch of new followers so I thought I’d introduce myself and let you get to know me!

Hey!
My name is Sam! Owner of Sam’s Hair Chair! I am a master Colorist that rents my chair out of Spin salon! I work with the most amazing, talented group of hairdressers at Spin.
I have 3 amazing sons and one chocolate lab fur baby.
My amazing partner has been supporting me and my crazy ideas for 16 years. My mom and dad are my biggest fans and you might be lucky to see them at the shop. They have the best laughs and are always cheering me on!
My hairdresser career started in 2005 although I worked at a salon while I went to hairdressing school. I was known to skip school to work at the salon because I loved to be at the salon.
My favourite drink from Starbucks is a caramel macchiato!
I have been a competitive hockey player since I was 8 years old and still play!
I also grew up playing soccer.
I am very involved in giving back and volunteering. I grew up here in maple ridge and love this city so much! If you ever need a door prize or silent auction gift I’m your gal!
I am so lucky to have such an awesome work/mom life balance. When I’m not behind the chair I’m usually going on adventures with my 5 year old. I specialize in listening to my guests and always making sure they feel heard, safe and happy! I love color, styling and cutting.

Yesterday reminded me how much being a hairdresser is about more than hair.

People often think we just cut, color, and style, but this career is so much deeper than that. We help build confidence before a huge interview. We sit and listen during heartbreak and grief. We help someone feel their best for a special celebration, or help them feel a little more like themselves during some of life’s hardest moments.

Sometimes we’re there during the happiest seasons of someone’s life, and sometimes we’re there during the hardest. We laugh together, cry together, celebrate together, and support people in ways that go far beyond what happens in the mirror.

Being a hairdresser means being trusted with more than someone’s hair — it means being trusted with pieces of their story.

I’m grateful for every person who sits in my chair and for the connections this career brings. ❤️
