Some transformations are years in the making.

When she first came to me in 2018, her brows had already been tattooed into a shape that simply wasn’t right for her face. They sat too far in, were much too large, and my only option at the time was to soften what was already there. I did the best I could with the knowledge and techniques I had then, knowing it was an improvement—but not the result she truly deserved.

Fast forward to today.

After two laser Reset + Renew sessions, we were finally able to clear away almost everything that had been holding her back. Her old ink had already faded well over the years, and laser lifted the remaining colour beautifully, leaving only the slightest trace of yellow that wasn’t visible enough to stand in the way of creating something new.

For the first time, we weren’t working around old mistakes.

We were working with possibility.

Instead of disguising someone else’s work, I could design brows that truly belonged on her face—soft, balanced, and flattering in both shape and size. The kind of brows she should have had from the beginning.

These brows came to me with a very dark, solid shape that had gradually turned a cool purple over time. The colour and shape no longer suited her features, so we started with two laser sessions to soften and fade the old ink before creating something new.

One of the most common questions I get is:

“Why is there sometimes yellow or orange left behind after laser?”

The answer isn’t the laser—it’s the original ink.

Brown cosmetic tattoo ink is made from a combination of different colour components. While laser is excellent at removing many of those colours, certain organic yellow and orange components simply don’t respond well to laser technology. That’s why, after the darker colours disappear, a soft yellow or orange residue can sometimes remain.

There are other removal techniques that can further reduce these colours, but they are generally more invasive and require additional healing. Many clients decide they’d rather move forward once the remaining colour is light enough.

That’s exactly what we did here.

Together, we decided the remaining orange was faint enough that I could safely create a fresh set of soft, natural brows over top. She understood that a small amount of the original ink would remain beneath her new tattoo, and she was happy to trade months of additional removal for beautiful brows she could enjoy now.

Every Reset + Renew journey is unique because every previous ink behaves differently. My goal isn’t perfection at any cost—it’s helping each client make the best decision for their timeline, skin, and long-term result.
