Each week, I get asked the question: “Do you treat ___?”
So, for a season, I’m answering all of your burning questions around evidence-based registered massage therapy and Advanced RMT treatment plans and techniques, as well as how to show up for your appointments.
Today’s **Head & Neck** instalment comes with a handy-dandy graphic to illustrate just a few of the benefits of Advanced RMT assessment and treatment plans that target the head and neck:
For conditions impacting the head and neck, benefits of Advanced RMT treatment plans include improved tissue health and often needed relief from the frequency and severity of tension headaches, migraines, post-concussion symptoms, whiplash symptoms, well as promoting healthy range of motion and pain relief for people experiencing jaw / temporomandibular joint disorders (or TMD/TMJD).
(Yes, we sometimes even work inside your mouth!😁😃)

A great night with colleagues and friends! 👊 (missing Pam and Allyson).
Thoughtful excerpt from Daily OM Inspiration:
“Movement as Stress Relief
“We are wired for rhythm, flow, and expression — and stress often dissipates when we return to that natural state of motion.
“Exercise doesn’t just strengthen muscles or improve cardiovascular health; it soothes the mind in ways that modern science continues to affirm. Movement releases endorphins, boosts serotonin, and regulates cortisol, restoring our sense of emotional harmony. It’s a biological reminder that we are wired for rhythm, flow, and expression — and that stress often dissipates when we return to our natural state of motion.
“Beyond that, physical activity gives the nervous system what it craves most: safety and regulation. Whether it’s a brisk walk, yoga flow, or a quick dance in your kitchen, mindful movement creates space for tension to soften and emotions to process. The rhythmic pattern of breath and motion signals to the brain that it’s okay to relax, inviting clarity where there was once chaos and presence where there was once overwhelm.
“Over time, this practice becomes less about ‘working out’ and more about ‘working through.’ Exercise becomes a form of emotional hygiene — a way to clear what the day accumulates and reconnect to your sense of balance and vitality. With each step, each stretch, each conscious breath, we’re not pushing toward peace — we’re returning to it.”

It doesn’t have to be everything all at once. Lasting changes are only ever achieved gradually. Slow and steady. Gradual return to drinking more water. Gradual return to activity. And then Patience to let time go by.
You don’t have to decide anything. You don’t even have to work at it (yet). The main thing is to choose one thing and make it easy on yourself (example: drink 3 more cups of water per day), and then follow through.
Do one easy addition to your day for 3 weeks. Then add just one more *easy* thing. And repeat. Keep going from there. Fall in love with the PROCESS.
Here’s to going easier on ourselves and taking time for ourselves in 2025 ❤️
