It’s been nearly two weeks since my mom passed and I’ve been very torn about posting about something so personal. But I have this need to honour her, someone I love and admire so much. There are so many words to describe her. She was so strong, the things she endured in life would make for a best seller. Yet she never complained, never felt sorry for herself and expected the same from her children. She was loving, intelligent, adventurous, competitive and fiercely proud of her family, especially her grandchildren.

She was as an incredible woman, mother, grandmother and best friend. I miss her terribly but I know she is in a far better place and that the ache will ease 🤍🤍🤍

So I was just visiting my mom who is 93 and sadly slipping into dementia. My visits with her have changed dramatically since this past autumn and anyone who is caring for an elderly parent can feel my pain and sadness.

We have good visits and terrible visits…and some pretty funny visits. Today she looked right at me, pointed at my frown line and said ‘ you need to do your Botox!’ I nearly spit out my coffee laughing as I did.

And she’s right! My frown lines are back!! HOWEVER…it’s not been quite 3 months since I last did my toxin so I WON’T be touching up tonight despite the temptation.

Toxin on average lasts 3 months…however this can vary between individuals. I have a fast metabolism and try to workout daily so I never get a full three months. Yes I could dose myself a little higher but I don’t like a ‘frozen’ look. So I opt to go a little lighter, have it wear off a little more quickly …and put up with the ‘constructive criticism’ lol! I will be very very sad when I’m no longer getting advice from my dear mom 🥲❤️

He’s not just a (really) pretty face! I’m happy to say that I love all the people in my life…truly blessed 🫶

Young or ‘mature’…we all want soft, supple, natural looking lips 👄 . There is of course an enormous difference in treating youthful vs mature lips. The difference lies many factors including technique and the rheology of the product used. When this beautiful client first requested a lip plump I declined…I really felt her lips were perfect and if you know my work I am all about keeping it natural.

So we both waited a month or so and then revisited the idea. Her desire was for more hydration and a bit more fullness and I have to say she was right…I think the mini lip plump we did achieved just that 👌🫦.
