This clinical study examined the effect of soft tissue thickness on crestal bone loss of early-loaded C1 implants with platform switching. The study found that early loading of C1 implants, within 6 to 8 weeks, is considered safe. No early-loaded implant failed at the 1‐ and 5‐year of follow-ups and the success rate was 100%. After one year, CBL was more pronounced at sites with thin gingiva and at 5 years, the difference between the groups was leveled.

How should sub-crestal implantation be carried out ❔
✔️ The MIS XD pilot drill includes a built-in stopper. In cases in which the doctor decides to place the implant sub-crestally it is possible to use the 16mm pilot drill from the surgical kit. This method may be achieved in a precise manner thanks to the sub-crestal markings on the MIS XD procedure drills.
