After every Korean Lash Lift — and every lash lift we perform — we finish with a conditioning treatment to hydrate, nourish and protect the natural lashes. 💧✨

This treatment is left on for 24 hours and, while coating the lashes, makes them look more separated, defined and “piecey.”

✨ HERE’S THE IMPORTANT PART:

That separated, piecey appearance does NOT define a Korean Lash Lift.

It is the conditioning treatment creating that finished appearance — not the type of lift or technique used.

Once the conditioning treatment is removed after 24 hours, the lashes soften and separate naturally while maintaining their beautiful lift.

So when comparing lash lift photos, remember: the way the lashes look immediately after the service may also be showing you the finishing treatment — not simply the lifting technique. 💕

SHOULD YOU TAKE A BREAK FROM LASH EXTENSIONS? 🤔💕

The answer is NO — you shouldn’t need to, as long as your extensions are properly applied and you’re taking care of them both at home AND in the studio.

The key is MAINTENANCE. ✨

Your fills should generally be maintained every 2–3 weeks. Waiting too long allows the extensions to grow farther away from the lash line, placing extra weight toward the end of the natural lash. This can cause twisting, stress and potentially premature shedding.

And maintenance doesn’t stop when you leave the studio! 🫧 Keeping your lashes and lash line clean is extremely important to prevent buildup of oils, makeup and bacteria.

Because retention and lash growth are two different things.

You can still have LOTS of extensions left at 4 weeks — especially with great retention — but your natural lashes have continued to grow underneath them.

As that natural lash grows, the extension moves farther away from the lash line. Eventually it can become top-heavy, start twisting or no longer sit in the ideal position.

“I’ve seen Lash Lifts that look pointed… is that the Korean Lash Lift?”

We get asked this ALL the time! 💕

The answer is NO — that pointed or separated look is not what defines a Korean Lash Lift.

So why do you see so many photos like that? 👀

At the end of a Korean Lash Lift, a nourishing conditioning treatment is applied to help rehydrate the lashes and keep them in place. This treatment stays on the lashes for the first 24 hours and does temporarily group the lashes together, giving them that wet, pointed appearance.

📸 Some lash artists choose to take their “after” photo WITH the conditioning treatment on — so the lashes may look glossy, grouped or pointed.

📸 Other artists choose to take their “after” photo BEFORE applying the conditioning treatment — so you see the lashes separated, soft and fluffy.

After 24 hours, once the conditioning treatment is washed away, the lashes separate and you’re left with a beautiful, soft, natural-looking lift. ✨

So if you’ve been avoiding a Korean Lash Lift because you thought you had to have that pointed look… now you know! 💗

The Korean Lash Lift is about the technique — NOT the pointed look.

This client naturally has very curly lashes, which can make achieving the proper attachment more difficult. The natural curl can affect how the extensions sit and, if not applied properly, can affect the overall look and retention.
