Not all fragrance oils are created equal - and when you're formulating for a luxury market, the wrong choice will show.

Here's what to evaluate before you commit to a fragrance:
→ Story + emotional alignment: Luxury fragrance should tell a story. It’s not just about how it smells, but what it evokes. The right scent should align with the feeling, mood, or experience you’re trying to create - whether that’s calm, indulgence, energy, or escape.
→ Skin or wax behaviour: A fragrance that performs in a candle won't necessarily perform in a lotion - and vice versa. Know your application and test accordingly.
→ Usage rate & stability: Higher cost-per-unit is fine if the usage rate is efficient and the fragrance holds through cure, heat, or emulsification. Do the math before you fall in love with a scent.
→ Your customer's world: What does your finished product promise? The fragrance has to live inside that story - not fight it.
