Happy Labour Day! ❤️
Labour Day is a public holiday that celebrates the achievements and contributions of workers.
It’s observed on the first Monday in September. It grew out of the labour movement in the late 1800s, recognizing workers’ rights, fair wages, and better working conditions.
Today, it’s also seen as the unofficial end of summer, often marked with parades, community events, and family gatherings.
My fellow stylists & all who work in beauty know how hard we work all year round to make others look & feel their best…. So this holiday is meaningful & much deserved! 🥂
After some much needed time off, I look forward to starting the “new year” with optimism, hope & a renewed sense of life is so short & fragile, yet beautiful! 🤍 ☀️ 🤍
See you in my chair soon! 💕

Last weekend marked my 26th anniversary of being a hairstylist! 🥂🙈🙃
I was getting a mani the other day & the girl asked if I had any advice for her, as she is only 3 yrs into the industry. Since then, I’ve been really reflecting on the last 26 yrs!
I’ll never forget the first weekend I started @ the salon in 1998. My 2 BFF’s were going to NYC to visit friends & wanted me to come. I passed bc I was so excited to start my “new job”! I had zero FOMO declining a party weekend in NY. (which was not typical for me as a 19 yr old 😅)
I’m forever thankful to my longtime mentor who is now truly family. In the early days I worked so hard. Dom threw me on the floor fast, he said “You have natural talent”. I remember being so shy & nervous. Total imposter syndrome! I’d work 12 hr days, non stop. It was tiring yet so fun. It was like a party at work all the time! My “natural talent” allowed me to grow a clientele quickly. I won clients over with my “blow outs” and soon they trusted me to colour their hair. Since those days in the late 90’s/00’s I’ve had so many eras in my career. The era of doing tons of bridal work, my freelance days, my editorial era when I’d do photoshoots for brands, designers, & magazines. Then, to being a stylist in a nightclub where I’d give girls a “lewk” before they hit the dance floor! Next, becoming a storefront salon owner for 10 yrs, to now in a private studio! Each & every era was different & fulfilling. I grew & learned something about myself with every phase of my career. I’ve often asked myself as someone who gets so bored quickly- “How have I stayed so long?” The answer is simple. I love to make women look & FEEL good! The feeling I get when someone feels their best bc of something I did is the BEST feeling. We end up feeling good TOGETHER! My clients feel like my friends. We get to listen to good music, have in depth chats, and feel & look beautiful in the end. And that’s how I’ve stayed so long! ✨❤️💁🏻♀️
