Well… we did it.
Kas’kayd - The Beauty Festival.
A true testament that thoughts really do become things.
We had an idea. We created the concept. And then we executed it.
And I think that might be the biggest win of all: the ex*****on.
So many people get stuck at the idea. Stuck waiting for the perfect time, the perfect budget, the perfect team, the perfect circumstances.
But at some point, you just have to DO IT.
Be it scared, tired, excited, mad, sad, supported or unsupported.
Just do it.
We are incredibly proud of what we accomplished with the very first Kas’kayd. But more than anything, our goal was simple: we wanted every person who walked through those doors to have a GREAT time. To learn. To connect. To laugh. To experience something different. To make memories.
And from everything we’ve heard since September 20th… I think we scored.
To every artist, educator, presenter, competitor, sponsor, vendor, volunteer, team member, friend and every single person who bought a ticket and showed up - THANK YOU.
You believed in an idea with us, and together we turned that idea into something real.
The first one is officially in the books.
Kas’kayd… here we grow.

Being an artist means being a forever student. If you are going to truly master your craft, you can never know too much, learn too much or share too much.
Come and enjoy a full day of education, conversations, demonstrations, creativity, business, wellness, culture and connection - all happening across our stages and education rooms. Learn something that makes you better behind the chair. Sit in on a conversation that makes you think differently about your business. Meet someone you’ve been following for years. Introduce yourself to somebody new. Exchange numbers. Ask questions. Take notes. NETWORK. Your craft is your business. Invest in it. Invest in your community. Most importantly, invest in yourself.

Meet PBC - Professional Beauty Care.
Built for the beauty industry, PBC is about creating something beauty professionals have needed for a long time: real support, real resources and a stronger professional community.
At Kas’kayd, Francesco and Marco will be in the Fire Pit speaking candidly about what we have built. They’ll introduce the PBC Association and break down the who, what, why and how behind it - from benefits and education to community, opportunity and what membership could mean for the way you work, grow and build your career.
This is bigger than another industry organization. It’s about creating an infrastructure designed with beauty professionals in mind - and they’re going to show you exactly how PBC plans to change the game… and maybe even your life.
Of course, the presentation is currently missing one very important ingredient: the life of the party, Miss Sampson. But we’ll let Francesco and Marco have their moment.
Come hear what’s coming.
PBC - Professional Beauty Care.
Benefits. Education. Community.

💫Performing at Kas'kayd💫
Kalista Wilson is a singer-songwriter from Oshawa, Ontario, whose relationship with music began almost as soon as she could write. She penned her first songs at just four years old, and by 15, had become a JUNO nominee as a member of the girl group Girl Pow-R.
Her musical foundation was shaped through classical training with the Royal Conservatory of Music, under the guidance of Kristine Dandivino, founder and director of Oshawa Opera. While her training began in the classical world, Kalista has always been drawn to the warmth and soul of jazz, ’90s R&B and neo-soul — influences that continue to shape her sound and songwriting.
Kalista is now preparing to release her first solo EP, Serpentine, a deeply personal project exploring her love for Mother Earth and her spiritual journey of becoming.
Her creativity extends well beyond music. Kalista is also the founder of Earthly Bodies Creations, a small sustainable fashion brand where she creates handmade pieces using natural and recycled materials. Across Instagram and TikTok, she shares the many worlds that inspire her — music, the Earth, sustainable living, art, yoga and spirituality.
Through music, fashion and art, Kalista continues to create from a place of expression, connection and a deep appreciation for the natural world.
Come check out Kalista at Kas’kayd and experience her sound for yourself as she gets ready to release her first solo EP, Serpentine.

We’re adding a little music to Kas’kayd… and we’re so excited to introduce Abeena Samm to the stage.
Born in Guyana, Abeena is a singer-songwriter whose sound moves through acoustic blues, reggae and gospel, with a love for experimenting with different cultural sounds and making them her own. Whether performing solo, with a small ensemble or alongside a band, Abeena brings something personal to every performance.
And she isn’t just performing music - she’s creating it.
Abeena has independently released nine original singles, with her music featured on radio and television. Her 2020 release, “Black Woman,” is a song rooted in empowerment and a beautiful example of the message behind much of her work.
But her creativity doesn’t stop with music.
Through Abeena Samm & Recognize Your Face Marketplace Ministry, she has spent years using her platform to bring people together through charity events, concerts, workshops, youth initiatives and community programming across the GTA. She is also an author, entrepreneur and project manager, proving that creativity can live in more than one lane.
Kas’kayd was created to celebrate beauty, culture, creativity and the people who make our communities interesting - and Abeena fits right into that story.
On September 20th, she’s bringing her sound to Kas’kayd.
Come for the beauty. Stay for the music. And get ready to meet Abeena Samm.
