Cute idea for Spring!

Wow 4.5 litres of fluid removed today. I drank under 1 litre all weekend so I know It's not from drinking too much. The nurse said it's because my kidneys are not working at all now. Very glad I get dialysis to survive. I used my walker this morning as my feet are so swollen it's hurts to walk and didn't want to fall.

A bit of a bumpy start to dialysis but all good now!

Fantastic news! I was talking with my sister Traci and she told me, she has started the process to see if she can give me her kidney.
Blood type doesn't necessarily have to match as there is another way to do it. I forget what it's called but will find out more tomorrow. Anyone who is interested you can contact St. Paul's hospital by phone or email. They will do a pre screen and send you information.

My sutures holding my catheter in, hurts and was inflamed. Thankfully they took the sutures out and put a stat lock on my skin so my catheder stays in. They are looking at it today to see when I can get my catheter out! Hope it's soon As I cannot wait to have a proper shower and a bath. It had been 5 long months.

A few people have asked what it is like living with end stage kidney failure. This sums it up!

Only got 3hrs 12 minutes of dialysis today as I got steal syndrome.
This is what steal syndrome is: Hemodialysis access-related hand ischemia or 'steal syndrome' causes problems such as hand numbness, pain, coldness and weakness, as well as significantly reduced blood flow/pressure to affected tissues. In extreme cases, it can cause tissue death (gangrene), which may lead to the loss of fingers.
