Shirley needed last minute highlights/haircut before she leaves for the Bahamas. (Her last appointment with me was a year ago😳) Donna, a lovely longtime Colour client, is currently stuck in Puerto Vallarta waiting for a flight home & couldn’t make it to her appointment. Shirley was able to get in the same day as she contacted me—this never happens so I had to share.

Before & After of Debbie, a brand new Client that was ready for a little change. This was a big job that required two separate 3 hour back-back colour appointments! I cooled down her previous colours substantially & layered her curls to bring them back to life. It’s still long enough for this busy lady to tie it up whether it’s curly or straight. Looks great both ways! Redken’s Frizz Dismiss shampoo/conditioner & Redken’s Full Volume mousse went home with her—perfect for her curly hair. Welcome, Debbie🌞

I’m beyond devastated & heartbroken to share that my funny, cool Dexx Dawg died January 29, just 1 day short of his 15th Birthday.

When I gutted & renovated our Bay Street house 13 years ago, Dexx was here every step of the way. A fenced backyard was first on the list for Dexx. Glass exterior doors were also installed exclusively for Dexx to be able to see inside & out every door. We slept side by side on the concrete floor when we needed naps. We camped downstairs, too. It was epic.

Another major accomplishment was when we rolled our Mercedes together on Quadra Island in 2022. We were taken away on a stretcher to a waiting ambulance while the paramedics checked us out. After they determined we were ok ish, Dexx just wanted his dinner back at the cabin. (Really?!?)

Dexx loves the water & was a power boater. He usually rode in the bow of my Larson because he liked to see where we were going. He’s swam & boated all over the Okanagan & BC. He’s been to Silver Star & rode the Gondola at Big White. He did donuts in the parking lot at Mt. Washington. He sat on my lap & flew over to Sechelt in 2019 & thought that was fun. He’s been on most of the BC Ferries. His best summers were likely over on Newcastle Island at Kanaka Bay when he was a puppy. He boogey boarded over there often & had a blast.

There’s far too many adventures to mention here; I have 15 years of fantastic memories with my Dexx Dawg. Please leave a comment below if you have something to share about my Dexx. He will most certainly be missed♥️🐾💔

Ohhh, if my Studio walls could talk! This was a hilarious, recent conversation that happened. I relayed this conversation to a Client who is a Doctor & she also got a kick out it—she knows the Nurse.

Martine was just in for fresh, textured layers before she heads off to Mexico for a month. Those sparkling, multi-tonal highlights were precisely placed at her last appointment several weeks ago. Beautiful brunette vibes🤎

The first Makeover of 2026 on a happy, new Client! A healthy chop with long layers for this old friend’s baby fine hair gave it more volume & lift. Redken’s Volume Injection shampoo & conditioner was used at the sink, then Redken’s Root Lifter Volumizing Spray Foam was applied pre-blow dry. High heat & my magical XL round brush for a beautiful finish. A spritz or two of Redken’s Wax Blast for a little added oomph. Check out all those natural colours! I was thrilled that this fun friend drove in from Bowser to have her hair cut by me. Mexico, here she comes! Thanks for modelling🌲✌🏼🤍

Well, 2025 definitely was somewhat of an emotional rollercoaster. I laughed with little children, made new friends & travelled to Portugal solo (Europe 101 for me!) I was devastated when nobody told me I lost my only Uncle to Cancer. Sadly, a lovely longtime Client was also lost to Cancer. I cried some more when I lost a lifelong friend to ALS. I volunteered, golfed, donated, learned to play Pickleball, created eclectic flower baskets, grew sunflowers & spinach, listened to live music, escaped to my favourite beaches & enjoyed many afternoon naps with Dexx Dawg in our private backyard oasis. Self care.

Thank you so much for your ongoing support & words of wisdom. I appreciate you! I’ll continue to sprinkle Joy into 2026 with random acts of kindness. Wishing everyone good health & a kinder 2026. Here’s to more great hair! (I’m counting the days until I’ll be swimming in the Greek Islands☀️)

That rich auburn shade is a custom blend I concocted especially for her; the highlights are foiled in 2 or 3 times/year. Structured layers keep the shape in check. After applying mousse, I diffuse. Martine just returned home from Australia; a Christmas colour refresh was in order. I sliced in 2 different shades of dark blonde to mingle & mix with her natural brunette & silver.
