Post covid locks need some taming? Appointments are filling up quickly for June so if you're wanting to have your locks tweaked for summer be sure to book in soon!

It has been a few years now since we have had a price increase at Island Locks dread studio in Nanaimo, BC. We are so thrilled with our new sea-side studio in in Departure Bay with all of the amenities to make your session comfortable!

There are still 3 weeks left to get in an appointment at our old pricing before the hourly rate changes from $40 -> $45 at the end of this month. Send a private message to enquire about available appointment times for maintenance work or new dreadlock installation.

Tahlia stopped in today for a quick maintenance session on her 11 dreadlocks put in one month ago in her hometown.

**if you are ever getting dread work done at a salon and they recommend "interlocking" (i.e. looping the whole dread through it's own root to close up the gaps), be VERY suspicious. This can almost certainly lead to pinch points and weak spots that will worsen with time. Nothing that can't be fixed .locks

Check out the improvement here on Ryon's viking-style dread hawk that he got started up on his own a couple of months ago. He was stoked with the outcome and we had fun talking about retro toys from the 80's! 🙌😊✌

It was SO great to see one of my dearest O.G. clients Spring whose dreads (+ extensions made with real hair) we put in 5 years ago on her Birthday! 1 year since the last touch up, so lots to catch up on...in our lives and in those frizzy roots :)
