Three things that no one tells you about a large age gap
We're a blended family with a 20 year old, a 13 year old, and a 6 year old - 7 years between each of the kids. Fun fact- my husband and I are also 7 years apart. Everyone talks about how sad they are for us that our kids won't grow up as "friends," but here's what I actually learned
1. All of my friends who have kids with a small age gap (4 years apart or less) tell me about the non-stop fights, both physical and verbal.... that has never been my experience. Actually, they have always been able to care for one another in ways that friends and parents haven't been able to.
2. They do grow apart during the teen years, and it's really hard... but eventually, they come back together in a way that feels so mature and based on mutual respect. It's different, but it's beautiful.
3. They get the best of you at every stage. When you're not making multiple bottles and changing multiple diapers at once, you get to make each moment a one on one experience for them. First loves happen at different times, hormone changes happen at different times, driving lessons happen at different times. You get so much more one on one time. Your relationship with each one develops on a more individual basis.
Would we have chosen this age gap in the beginning? I don't think so, and just like any age gap (or not, for moms of multiples), there are cons to a large age gap... but knowing what I know now, I would choose a 5+ age gap every single time.

This past week, my friends and I took our kids to a waterpark/hotel for the night. There were 7 kids between us. We were outnumbered, which seemed to be the case for most families there...
While we were having dinner at the restaurant attached to the hotel we saw a family send their 3 daughters to the washroom as a group so one of them could use the toilet while they settled up the bill.
The three girls returned absolutely distraught... 2 of the older girls practically carrying the youngest.
She explained (in vivid detail that I will spare here) that she was assaulted in the women's washroom by a fully grown man. The 2 girls that she was with started hitting him and screaming until he ran away.
He didn't run far. He went back to finish his beer at the hotel bar. The girls identified him rather quickly and he put his hood up and continued to drink his beer.
I think he really felt like no one would believe 3 girls.
Except. Everyone believed them without hesitation. Every dad in the building immediately started looking for the man she described. Every available male server started searching the hotel for him.
When the oldest girl pointed him out at the bar, every available dad blocked an exit point so he couldn't leave (not that he tried until the cops showed up anyway).
The man's name and age was released by the niagara regional police. His name is Adam Carroll, 38 years old, and yes, he has a criminal record prior to this incident.
The trauma that these girls endured is unthinkable, but I can't believe how well the situation was handled from the parents, to the girls who fought to protect that little girl, to the emergency responders, and every adult who took action and BELIEVED them in this moment.
So this is a reminder to never let your guard down, believe your children, and teach your children to trust their gut.
The world is a scary place, but not talking about it isn't making it any safer. Please share your children's safety tips in the comments.

Thursday Morning Feels π€
This is a long one, get your popcorn πΏ and a dirty Dr. Pepper π₯€ (iykyk)
Something I struggled with as a child was making friends. I never felt like I belonged or fit in anywhere... and SPOILER ALERT that didn't change as I became an adult.
I've met good friends at work and school but as those paths change, so do the relationships.
So, here I am. A mom of 2 boys, alone with no community, no friends, no so called "village"
... until Maskcara (now, Seint) entered the chat and I decided to start selling makeup on social media and I started meeting people!
Obviously, Seint has made some changes and is no longer a network marketing company, so I pivoted and took a shot on switching network marketing companies.
I joined Nu Skin because I love LOVE the lumispa and the bronzing beads, and honestly, I can't ignore the fact that they've been around for FOURTY years
So, off to Utah I went, where I met (and shared a hotel room) with 2 women who are so driven, successful, funny, accepting, and powerful.
So while I'm not sitting here and posting my $90,000 paycheck from network marketing, or talking about how I quit my job and retired my husband I AM going to say this
Network marketing has taught me that there are THOUSANDS of people like me.
Moms who are lonely
Moms who want a village
Moms who want it all
Moms who deserve to prioritize their kids
Network marketing has taught me to step out of my comfort zone and say hi to strangers, strike up conversations, prioritize my own self care so I can better care for my kids and my husband
Network marketing has taught me that when I show up in my stories with no makeup on at 2am crying because my ADHD brain is unhinged, people genuinely care... they don't unfollow, they don't send hate messages, they send love.
So, for me, it's not about becoming a millionaire (although, that would be a pretty cool bonus), for me it's that I finally feel like I belong somewhere and meeting the people who have healed my lonely, scared, abandoned inner 5 year old.
THANK YOU TO EVERYONE WHOS BEEN A PART OF MY STORY. I LOVE YOU

and a super hot take for my ADHD girlies (and boys too, but I'm a girls girl around here)
I can't help but deep dive into science. I know no one likes the ding dang science, but your girl is a nerd π€ k? K.
The science is evolving, but something that so far seems like it can't be argued is that people with ADHD have a different microbiome composition, we seem to NATURALLY have more bad bacteria rather than good ones, which is evident from our lack of regularity (either too much or not enough, if you know what I mean), our Heartburn (I literally used to sleep on a recliner to stop the acids from burning my eye balls), and our mood swings (absolutely no bonus content needed for that one, but I love patterns)
I literally will not gate keep, so I've included the prices at the end of my rant for Canada and the USA... if you're elsewhere, please comment where you're from, and I'll send pricing.
If you have adhd and you'd like some symptom relief without meds or if you're on meds and you'd like that little boost of support, may I suggest a hugh quality probiotic?
It's a great starting point for symptom relief and I'm more than happy to give you my full adhd supplement regiment, all you have to do is ask π€«

add to cart π this price is mind-blowing. I've been eyeing this device for a few months.
Micro current technology is super trendy in the skincare industry right now! You've probably seen microcurrent devices everywhere. All the influencers use them to "sn**ch" their faces, and all the skincare experts use them for their immediate effects but also the long-term delivery of their serums.
Here's how to use them:
β‘ cleanse
β‘ tone
β‘ BOOST SYSTEM
β‘ retinol
β‘ hydrate
β‘ sleep π€
Hyuralonic acid will increase the effectiveness of your retinol, and if you have sensitive skin, it will also help to decrease the common side effects of retinol (which isn't really an issue if you use the peptide retinol I recommend, but in case you're still using another retinol, try this tip)
10/16/2024
Introducing peptides β¨οΈ I have no idea why it took me so long to figure this out.
So, while rhode didn't really make me want to repurchase it, I didn't toss it in the trash. It was good. It just wasn't what I was hoping for.
Until about 3 weeks ago, when I grabbed my milk toner and applied it after my cleanse but before my retinol and all of the sudden β¨οΈπ© glazed donut skin. So I finished it off with the barrier repair moisturizer and my sleep mask and went to bed feeling 25 again.
(OK, you're right, I never stopped feeling 25- even though my mirror likes to fight me on this one)
I woke up still looking extra dewy and delicious.
So I decided that I must have been dreaming that rhode "wasn't that good" until I decided to skip retinol one night and again, it was just flat... it wasn't it.
Then. It. Freaking. Hit. Me. (If you have adhd you probably already know what I'm going to say because you're a master problem solver)
My freaking retinol isn't actually *just* retinol at all. It's peptides with a retinoic acid and Rhode is filled with other peptides!!
I was creating a peptide sandwich on my skin and my "maturing" π΅ skin was LOVING it.
So. Why did hailey choose peptides for her skincare line? Why are derms RAVING about peptides in skincare? Why is my new retinol SO different? Here's why ππ»
1. Boosts Collagen Production: Peptides help stimulate collagen production, which keeps skin firm, smooth, and youthful-looking, reducing the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles.
2. Enhances Skin Barrier: Peptides strengthen the skin's protective barrier, helping it retain moisture and stay resilient against environmental damage.
3. Improves Skin Texture: They promote skin repair and regeneration, leading to smoother, more even skin texture.
So ladies (and gentlemen) over 25 who are starting to feel like they have day old donut skin like me, let me put you on to my peptide regiment!
Comment peptide for a link or head to the shopmy in my bio to get all of my faves.

Raise your hand if you've ever been personally victimized by a retinol product ππΌββοΈ
Honestly, the HORROR stories I'm hearing and seeing from retinol use are absolutely devastating. So many people getting online prescriptions for a retinol strength their skin couldn't handle or being sold something at a spa without ANY direction or follow-up care.
But even for the people (like me) who were told by the manufacturer that the "retinol uglies" aka purging was temporary and that your skin would be absolutely glowing afterward, and so they just. kept. going..... only to find out that their skin was just too sensitive for it.
I'd pretty much given up hope until I found a drugstore retinol product so gentle that started to really change my skin.... enough that I was so happy and was singing its praises to anyone who would listen.
Then I ran out, and I did the most adhd Cait thing in the world and would go to buy more, but leave the drugstore with a new lipstick that I'll never wear and no retinol because...... πΏ
My friend recommended a retinol product and preached about how different it was, and honestly, I wasn't really listening... I ordered it and used it and holy βΎοΈπβ½οΈ (balls..... holy balls) it changed even freaking thing.
Take a look at the last picture to see my journey from using prescription retinol at 0.025% for 8 weeks to the Neutrogena one that I thought I loved after a year of use to the 4 week progress on my new retinol in it's active state + Peptides. I could cry.
If you were born in the 1900s - it is time.
Please reach out for other before and afters and more information about how you can get this product for WAY cheaper than the leading brands and lock in the intro price for 6 months!

π¨SOSπ¨ after 4 freaking years of trying I STILL don't get notifications from this page.
It's so insanely frustrating for not only me, but you as well!! If you've commented or messaged me on here and I don't answer it's because I'm literally NOT BEING NOTIFIED π - please feel free to add my personal account Caitlin Haubrok or follow me on Instagram - I really wanted this page to work this time.... but meta is being a giant pain in the butt!
I will be having a skincare launch party, I'm just trying to decide if I should do a Facebook group, an instagram close friends group, or take it off of a meta app all together!
If you have thoughts or feelings about where I should have this party please comment (I'm setting an alarm to remind me to check the comments tonight before bed) or add me and DM me on my personal page.
I really do love and appreciate every single one of you and not responding to you does NOT make you feel that way, so please get in touch with me in the other ways mentioned above if you can!! xoxo
π· cheers πΈ

here's the thing about getting older - your kids get older, too. They don't need you as much, they certainly don't want to hang out with you as often and if you don't have a solid marriage, one that you prioritized even in the busy season, that can be really lonely.
Which is exactly where I found myself. Surrounded by people that I live with, cleaning up after them, cooking for them, and thinking for them.... but feeling so lonely.
until I had enough and something had to give. I talked to my therapist, Jay talked to his therapist, together we committed to reading a book by Sue Johnson called Hold Me Tight and we prioritized our communication and finally started viewing the problem as the problem and working together to solve it.
If you're going through something similar, not enough can be said for getting individual therapy- BOTH OF YOU- but also working together with the guidance of a book, a program, or even couples therapy on top of your individual therapy.
This shift was quick. Super quick. Within a month, we have come lightyears in our communication and problem solving.
I'm sharing this because I wish when I logged into social media I could see the real lives of the people that I look up to, the couples that I envy, I wish I could see that we are in a completely normal and expected phase of our life and that it isn't so taboo to reach out for therapy when faced with a new chapter of your life.

Hey babes... I'm switching it up with a massive brag post about my momma π«Άπ½
Portfolio TravelπLisa Carter / my mom is literally CRUSHING it. ππΌ
Planning travel itineraries has always been her passion and as she nears retirement from her job at the federal government, she really wanted to lean into that passion and help as many people as possible travel in a way that feels personalized, safe, and affordable. βοΈ
This week she was recognized at her annual travel conference with an award of excellence (1 of only 3 Canadians recognized on that page!! π - though she works with both Canadian and American clients)
To say that I am proud and inspired is such an understatement!
If you're looking for a travel agent, please consider joining her Facebook group OR clicking the link in the comments to fill out her inquiry form
Finally, if you've made it this far- I'd love to know what questions you have about working with a travel agent?
The ones I get most often are:
What's the cost? πΈ
What are the benefits? π«£
How does she get paid? π°
Shes currently trapped in New Orleans due to a hurricane with absolutely nothing better to do than plan you a dream vacation so fill out the form and start chatting with her! βοΈ
