WATER DRINKING TIPS YOU DON'T KNOW!!!
Drinking enough water is one of the simplest habits but brings countless health benefits. To make drinking water more effective and enjoyable, here are some great "tips" you can apply:
1. Calculate the amount of water needed each day:
General rule: About 2-3 liters of water per day for healthy adults, but can vary depending on weight, physical activity level, climate and health status.
Basic estimate formula: Weight (lbs) x 30-40ml of water. For example, a 90lbs person needs about 1.8 - 2.4 liters of water/day.
2. Drink at the right time:
As soon as you wake up: Drink a glass of warm water (can add lemon) to rehydrate after a long night, activate internal organs and help detoxify.
30 minutes before meals: Helps with digestion and can help you eat less (supports weight loss).
Before, during, and after exercise: Replaces water lost through sweat.
When you feel tired or sleepy: Sometimes, feeling tired is a sign of mild dehydration.
1-2 hours before bed: Avoid drinking too close to bedtime so you don't have to wake up to go to the bathroom.
3. Make drinking water a habit:
Always carry a water bottle: Keep a water bottle within sight and reach, whether at home, in the office, or out.
Set reminders: Use an app on your phone or set a simple alarm to remind you to drink water regularly.
Take small, frequent sips: Instead of gulping it down at once, take small sips throughout the day.
Drink a glass of water after each bathroom visit: A simple way to automatically remind yourself to hydrate.
4. Make water taste better:
If you don't like the taste of plain water, try:
Mix with fruits and vegetables: Add lemon slices, oranges, cucumbers, mint leaves, strawberries, ginger... to water to create flavor (detox water).
Drink unsweetened herbal tea: Teas such as chamomile tea, ginger tea, mint tea are also great sources of water.
Fresh coconut water: Both hydrates and provides natural electrolytes.
Diluted fresh fruit/vegetable juice: Helps increase vitamins and minerals, but remember to dilute to reduce sugar.
5. Pay attention to water temperature:
Warm/room temperature water: Usually easier to absorb and good for the digestive system, especially in the morning or when it's cold.
Cold water: Can help cool the body quickly when exercising or in hot weather, but don't drink it too cold when eating because it can affect digestion.
6. Monitor your body's signs:
Urine color: Light yellow or almost clear urine shows that you're drinking enough water. If it's dark yellow, you need to drink more.
Skin and lips: Dry skin and chapped lips are also signs of dehydration.
False hunger: Sometimes the body mistakes thirst for hunger. Try drinking a glass of water before deciding to snack.
7. Avoid overusing diuretic drinks:
Coffee, strong tea, alcoholic beverages... can cause diuretics, causing the body to lose water faster. If you drink them, remember to replace them with plenty of water.
