Avoid Chlorine and Saltwater: Both can be damaging to extensions. If you’re swimming, keep your hair above water as much as possible.
Use mineral based sunscreen: Avoid the ingredient known as avobenzone when looking for a sunscreen anywhere the extensions may touch your skin. This ingredient can turn the extension pinkish / orange and in most cases is not reversible.
Keep Them Hydrated: Heat and sun exposure can dry out extensions. Use a hydrating hair mask regularly and using leave-in conditioner to keep them moisturized.
Minimize Heat Styling: Heat can weaken extension and cause them to become brittle and lose length off the ends quickly. Opt for heat-free styles when possible, and if you are using hot tools, always use a heat protectant first.
Avoid Tangling: Tie your hair back loosely when swimming or in windy conditions to prevent tangling, which can stress the extensions and natural hair.
Regular Maintenance: Follow the recommended maintenance schedule to ensure your extensions stay securely attached and in good condition.

How to safely use heat on your extensions 🥵🔥
Using heat tools on your hair can help you achieve various hairstyles, but it’s important to use them properly to minimize damage. Here are some tips for using heat tools on your hair:

1. Start with clean, dry hair: Heat styling tools should be used on clean, dry hair to avoid excessive damage.

2. Apply a heat protectant: Before using any heat tool, apply a heat protectant spray or serum to your hair. This creates a barrier between your hair and the heat, reducing the risk of damage.

3. Use the right temperature: Different hair types require different heat settings. Fine or damaged hair should be styled at lower temperatures, I don’t recommend using heat higher than 350° on the extensions 

4. Use a quality tool: Invest in high-quality heat tools that have adjustable temperature settings and even heat distribution. Ceramic or tourmaline-coated tools are generally gentler on the hair compared to metal or plastic ones.

Tips on caring for your extensions in the dry winter months:
💆🏼‍♀️ Hair oil in your ends daily
💆🏼‍♀️ Weekly hair mask the longer you’re able to leave it
on the better (my go to hair mask is tagged in the picture)
💆🏼‍♀️ Avoid over washing (1-2 washes per week is sufficient)
💆🏼‍♀️ Avoid very hot shower temperatures - excessive amounts of hot water can dry out your hair.
💆🏼‍♀️ After using conditioner, try rinsing your hair in cold water to seal the cuticle

It’s not often I get to do a fun colour like this one, although when I do I love it! This client came to me and was wanting fuller hair, with lighter ends and 5 bundles of nanos did just that. I always love a good challenge, especially when the end result is this good 👏🏼😍
