It's almost that time again!

It's that time again, and was a beautiful day to be out to harvest this years round of Cottonwood/Poplar Buds. I harvest these, at the perfect time every spring, when the buds are oozing liquid herbal magic, Riiiiight before the leaves pop. It's a sticky, messy job, but someone's got to do it!

I will then infuse the buds for a number a weeks, and with the resulting and fragrant oil, along with a few other secret herbs and personally crafted blend of Essential Oils, I will make my Poplar Bud Salve.

This Salve is absolutely magic. It is a topical pain reliever for cuts, bruises, burns and chapped places.
It soaks in and works wonders on arthritic joints, strains and sprains.

Our kids use this exclusively for their injuries from football and rugby.

The extra herbs added work synergistically with the poplar buds, and increase cell proliferation.....which means that cuts, abrasions, burns and chaps heal in record time.

If anyone is interested, this Salve is extremely limited because of the nature of the time harvested. SPRING ONLY PEEPS!

Did you know?

Thanksgiving/Christmas/Easter zygo cacti AKA: Schlumbergera actually grow in shady, moist and tropical environments in South America and are not lovers of the desert like typical cacti? 🌵

They are also sensitive to light, and bloom when light levels change for them. These ones growing for me, bloom twice a year, ALWAYS right around day-light savings time, and this year, they all got the memo!!!

All of these I started as "slips" or segments from other plants, with the lightest pink being around 10 years old now, and the STUNNING yellow variety is now around 3 years old. This is the first year that one is putting on such a spectacular show!!!

These live happily in a south facing, sunny window all year.

I also have an Easter variety that is new to our household and will have completely different shaped flowers. Cannot wait until that one starts blooming!

A fresh batch of my Top Selling Poplar Bud and Comfrey Salve is ready and available in limited quantities! 😍

This Salve is made with Freshly harvested Poplar/Cottonwood Buds, which are only harvested in spring time, while the sap runs in the tree, and before the buds leaf out.

The Comfrey is grown in my very own garden and is carefully dried and then infused in a plant based oil for 6-8 weeks.

The whole process takes time, and is seasonally dependent which is why it is only available until I run out of plant material!! Next batch won't be available until spring 2023!

🌳Poplar Buds contain chemicals similar to aspirin which make it an amazing topical pain reliever. .

🌱Comfrey contains Chemicals that speed healing within the layers of the skin and is traditionally known as Knit Bone because of it's amazing ability to speed the healing of broken bones. .
