The Crow's Lair

we have not posted as often as I should so i’m getting right on that. Life has been buzzing at a rapid pace around our blessed space, see I have even been writing a bit so note the rhyme😉
The tallow products are continuing to be so popular , Fresh batches are constant . I have also challenged myself to sort the trunks and trunks of antique linens, fabrics ect . The result is a great selection for mixed media artists, junque journals of course my new friends, the “slow stitchers”.i love every piece of antique fabric, floss, lace that I have collected but it’s time to share♥️these two antique sewing baskets are my greatest treasures, both from norway. one belonged to my gramma, the other gifted to me on moms and my first trip over from sweet Anna Bakken.Do any of you have and treasured things that you use daily?

Hello Friends- A glimpse into christmas preparations, the annual christmas tree hunt, decorations, traditions , new products …. This is truly a magical time of year 🫶💕

Something new, Yule fire cups!! These are best stored in an open basket to enjoy them and their scent until you make a fire. The ingredients are pure magic, rowan berries, devils club powder, cinnamon sticks, tamarack tips , pine sap! i am cutting and wrapping delicious soaps , detox salts and sugar scrubs are re stocked . The lair smells like the holidays!

Hello Friends! what are we up to ? Well…. The men will be happy as we have a new line of beard products , oils and balms . we have re stocked our fabulous facial serum and added two new ones . I have been deep diving and researching with a friend the wonders of tree saps . My newest serum contains peach sap , i could write a paper on this magic substance, oh wait , I did 😉. The beard oils and tallow balms smell like the forrest , yes boys they really do. This time of year we are putting in a lot of hours so that dear Dan of mine brings happy hour , fire ball and egg nog and that fire , perfect end to busy days. This is cozy time friends🫶

Our favourite time of year, everything, the colours, the smells in the mountains , the knowledge that soon the pace will slow down. We are still harvesting root medicines , herbs that continue to give, seeds , barks and berries. We lost a really dear friend recently , over 40 years is a long time, the sting is like a family member, we miss him , have truly felt his presence during the fall harvest 😉. I seem to be making all things elderberry this fall, third batch of syrup bottled , teas re stocked and the freeze dryer is on batch 7, they were bountiful this year. The tallow balms are restocked with new sizes , new herbal blends , labeling those tommorow. Off to star gaze from the hot tub for a bit. stay cozy friends , the fire at the lair is daily now( thanks dan).

we have been Fall foraging and harvesting the garden ,Busy days ! maggie is booking next week again , she has been a busy bee. life at the lair is buzzing , Autumn is my favourite season, soon Dan will have our fire crackling .

We were invited to the Hester Creek Market for the second year. We are so proud that our granddaughter assisted with our booth and participated as a vendor herself . Watching our amazing daughter in law to be in her position is also a very proud moment. Thank you also Alyssa for your help , support and being a part of this wild ride we are having at The Crows Lair. Thank you again Hester Creek for hosting us artisans, your venue is spectacular.

I am harvesting herbs for the fourth time this season . i was reading a memoir of a pioneer and here is an interesting thought. Bountiful and early harvest meant an early , hard winter. That is incentive to keep the freeze dryer humming and fill every jar ! Enjoy your bonus days in your gardens friends
