Feel ＡＬＬ the feels - the good, the bad, the ugly and everything in between.

I listened to a podcast recently by and she said it perfectly; "𝙬𝙝𝙖𝙩 𝙮𝙤𝙪 𝙧𝙚𝙨𝙞𝙨𝙩, 𝙥𝙚𝙧𝙨𝙞𝙨𝙩𝙨". Basically, no matter how far or fast you run, those icky feelings will catch up. You're simply prolonging the inevitable. Where as, if you face it head on - sure it will be uncomfortable - but it's only temporary!

Avoidance, in my opinion, is a short term gain but long term pain!

Full transparency, I started seeing a therapist to manage my anxiety. My 4th appt is this Thursday - Therapy Thursday I call it 😁 and it's the 𝗯𝗲𝘀𝘁 𝗱𝗮𝗺𝗻 𝘁𝗵𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗜 𝗲𝘃𝗲𝗿 𝗱𝗶𝗱! After the very 1st session, I felt like I could breathe again!!

When I realized what was working for me, now wasn't, I knew I needed a professional! I needed new tools and I needed to stop running. I kept myself so busy to avoid thinking, which only lead to more anxiety and intense burnout.

Here's what I do to take back my days ⬇️
•weekly session with a psychotherapist
•wake before anyone else - this gives me time to check in on what I personally need to make it a good day
•meditation - a beautiful way to calm the mind. It takes time, so be patient
•Journaling - I acknowledge my anxious thoughts and reframe them

With that said, I'm feeling called to switch things up a bit. This year I faced many obstacles that have challenged me like never before physically, emotionally and mentally. However, it was the health scare of our wee lad that really put things into perspective. 𝘓𝘪𝘧𝘦 𝘪𝘴 𝘵𝘰𝘰 𝘱𝘳𝘦𝘤𝘪𝘰𝘶𝘴 𝘢𝘯𝘥 𝘪𝘵 𝘮𝘶𝘴𝘵 𝘯𝘰𝘵 𝘣𝘦 𝘵𝘢𝘬𝘦𝘯 𝘧𝘰𝘳 𝘨𝘳𝘢𝘯𝘵𝘦𝘥. I was almost trapped by playing the "woe is me" card but with patience and practice of self-awareness, I learned we can't fall victim to our situations - 𝘥𝘰𝘯'𝘵 𝘨𝘪𝘷𝘦 𝘶𝘱 𝘺𝘰𝘶𝘳 𝘱𝘰𝘸𝘦𝘳 𝘵𝘩𝘢𝘵 𝘦𝘢𝘴𝘪𝘭𝘺 - and I see now that life happens for us, not to us!

Anyyywaaay, when I'm not filming and working with makeup, my time is spent working on my mind and body.

I have devoted a lot of my time towards yoga, meditation & mindfulness. It is a part of me and I feel called to share it. I'm no pro (yet 😉) but it is a journey of transformation nonetheless and why not share thoughts, tips & tricks I've learned along the way. What's the worst that can happen? You might learn to slow down and appreciate the little things? You might get a good night sleep? You might care less about the mess and go play outside with your kiddos? Oh darn...

So, long story short you will of course see makeup but you will also see a sprinkling in of mindfulness and any tips I feel compelled to share along the way, as I expand my awareness, and cruise through this healing journey of self-discovery. And honestly, it feels too damn good not to share it with you!

Now that I've got your attention 😆 ... yep that's baby kait!

I will be taking a bit of a breather, or more so, slowing down for the next couple of weeks. I will still be your makeup gal, no worries there!! I want you to fall in love with makeup and yourself again, so I'm not going anywhere!! However, for the time being, my attention is needed at home with my kiddos as we try to navigate through a few things.

I'm also taking this time for my health. I have been back and forth between Dr. appointments and I am finally getting answers. I was down and out for several months in pain so now that I have some direction, my focus right now is physio, mobility and getting back to feeling myself again!
