Yesterday my daughter turned 4, and honestly, she taught me something I think every parent needs to hear.

I had planned this big beautiful birthday party with themes, decorations, food, and all the little details. But almost nothing arrived in time, and I felt so discouraged thinking I had failed her.

Instead, we made the best of it with balloons, a small cake, simple snacks, sunshine, and a few of her little friends.

And all day long she kept telling me, “This is the best birthday ever.”

It reminded me that our children don’t care about perfection the way we think they do. They care about love, laughter, attention, and feeling special.

As parents we put so much pressure on ourselves to do more, spend more, and make everything magical, but sometimes the simplest moments become the biggest memories.

Yesterday reminded me that my love is enough. ❤️

As many of you know, I’m home full-time with my daughter Murphy, and I do everything I can each month to make it work so I can be with her. 💕
