Hello everyone! The Bitter Wendigo is happy to announce that we will be reopening on Friday, July 2nd!
It’s been a long three months and we are truly so excited to see everyone again. We will be contacting those who had appointments prescheduled over our lockdown period, and we would like to remind you that for haircuts our online booking system is a great option.
We cannot offer facial services at the moment but hopefully that will change before too long!

Hello all!
This is just a quick update that, as we enter Stage 1 of the province’s reopening plan on Friday, the Bitter Wendigo will remain closed.
However we are hopeful that we are now only weeks out from our reopening!
Stage 2 (which is the stage we are allowed to reopen under) will start a minimum of 21 days after Stage 1.
In short, we are hopeful we will be allowed to resume operations in less than four weeks and will hopefully be posting another update in the next few weeks with our confirmed reopening date.

Hello friends! I’m sure everyone has seen the news about our governments new reopening plan. The Bitter Wendigo will be permitted to open again in Stage 2, which will be sometime after the 4th of July (as of right now we have no concrete opening date).
We know some of you are disappointed by that news and we get it. Its been such a long year (well over a year now), and jeez, we just all want our lives to be back to normal don’t we?
A haircut, or a barbecue with friends, or catching a movie are things we miss too.
We just have to wait a little bit longer, friends, and this time we here are happy in the knowledge that when we do re-open we will be able to stay open.
We will see you all very soon! Until then, stay safe friends and enjoy the summer!

Hello friends! We hope everyone is staying happy and healthy. We just want to update everyone that our current closure will extend until at least June 2nd here at the shop. As always we will be posting updates as they become available to us and we look forward to having our doors open again soon.

Due to the new lockdown, which will be implemented April 3rd, the Bitter Wendigo will be closed for atleast the next four weeks. We will keep a list of all clients who have had cancelled appointments over the lockdown and when we have more information on our reopening date we will be reaching out to reschedule cancelled appointments. The Bitter Wendigo will be reopening on February 16th. We are grateful to be back and look forward to seeing you all.
As excited as we are to see everyone again there is some housekeeping we must go over (again, sorry!):
We ask that for haircuts please book online if you are able to do so (this eliminates the need for you to have to wait to have your phone call returned if we are with clients)
Durham Region will be placed in Red Zone upon reopening which means we are not able to offer shaves at this point.
All previous protocols are still being followed, which means please come to your appointment alone and arrive as close to your appointment time as possible.
And of course, we will still be sticklers for masks, hand sanitizing and the whole roster of other safety precautions we have all come to accept.

Hello Friends! We hope everyone had a safe and happy holidays and the new year we are now in is finding you well! The Bitter Wendigo does not have a concrete opening date as of yet from the government but we should know more next week. Next week, on the 16th, our region will be removed from the stay at home order and placed back into our colour coded system. If our region is placed into any other colour than grey we will be allowed to open our shop again.
