AI, Google, and the "DIY Diagnosis" Trap — Heather Rivers RMT Generative AI models can be good at analyzing data, recognizing patterns, and summarizing text based on what is already on the internet. But they are not all created equal, and the commonly used public models are not specifically built or calibrated to provide clinical advice.

Functional Strength — Building a Resilient Body — Heather Rivers RMT Strength training is often the best form of injury prevention. Think of your body’s strength as a "movement budget." Every time you pick up your child, carry a heavy load of groceries, or spend an afternoon gardening, you are spending from that budget. If your physical capacity is low,

The Core-Back-Hip Connection: Beyond the Six-Pack — Heather Rivers RMT 04/01/2026

The Core-Back-Hip Connection: Beyond the Six-Pack — Heather Rivers RMT A foundational principle in biomechanics is that proximal stability leads to distal mobility . If the top (diaphragm) or bottom (pelvic floor) aren’t aligned, or if there’s a dent in the side (weak abdominals), the "can" loses its structural integrity under pressure.

Curious of what "sideline" life is like? 🧐🤔

I've gotten a lot of questions from curious clients of what it's like to do sport massage. And all I can say is it's not as glamorous as you think, but oh so rewarding.

And I love anything that pulls back the curtains and shows the behind the scenes. So here you go!

We've got a decently sized team with 2 Athletic Therapists (trainers), a chiropractor, 2 sports med doc's and myself for home games.

So while being a new team to Oshawa, we are making do with what we have. What a metaphor for Durham Region.

Our Docs and head Trainer are in the trainer's room in the dressing room. So The 3 of us have made ourselves a home in the hall here.

I play DJ because it is so foreign to treat without music.
In no time this place gets buzzing with activity of players getting treated before warm ups.

When the pre game buzz dies off for a bit, this turns into our meeting place. Trading stories, presenting cases and truly growing and learning together.

So maybe this may seem like a reverse but I don't agree. She doesn't have all the bells and whistles, but it has everything we need.

The basics.
The fundamentals
The creativity

All needed to build a great foundation.

Let's Firewolves, Let's go!
