Building and sustaining a small business can be incredibly challenging, even when you are deeply passionate about the work and grateful for the loyal clients you serve. Today was a difficult reminder of that reality. I had two full-set eyelash extension appointments booked for 9:00 a.m. and arrived early to prepare the space and ensure everything was ready for the day. Unfortunately, both appointments resulted in no-shows, with no communication or notice despite attempts to reach out.

Situations like this have a real impact on small businesses. When services are reserved, that time cannot be offered to other clients, and the financial loss can be significant. Beyond the monetary aspect, it is disheartening when the time, preparation, and care put into one’s work are not respected.

I remain incredibly passionate about what I do and truly value the amazing clients who support my business. However, moments like these underscore how important mutual respect and communication are in maintaining a sustainable small business.

After a lot of thought, I’ve made the difficult decision to close Rhone Beauty as of March 1.

I am incredibly grateful for every client who supported me, especially through the winter months. Your trust, encouragement, and loyalty have truly meant the world to me.

I will still be offering appointments throughout February, and I would love to see you before then.

I’m allowing myself to be honest and vulnerable.

First, I want to thank my wonderful regular clients for your continued support. It truly means more to me than I can express.

When I was given the opportunity to lease my shop and take it back, I felt so much gratitude and excitement. This space has always represented a dream for me.

That said, this has been a very tough season. Despite advertising, adding online booking, and significantly reducing prices to try to build clientele, things haven’t grown the way I hoped. With the economy being harder right now, which I completely understand, no-shows have increased and longer gaps between eyelash fills have become more common.

I’ve found myself nearly giving my hard work away while still struggling to get reliable clients through the door.

I truly love what I do and take great pride in my work. I moved to Osoyoos permanently to build this little dream and to better serve and accommodate my clients.

My hope is to continue growing with long-term, regular clients so I can create stability and keep this business open and thriving. I’m deeply grateful for every person who supports my work and believes in what I’m building.
