'Your life will be transformed if you do this thing.'
And it can be true.
But it also alludes to instant change.
And while everything can change in a single moment,
true transformation doesn't happen this way.
In my own experience the best thing that helped me and my life change was a morning routine.
I know it sounds cliche but it is by far the one thing that worked for me and here's why.
1. I really wanted to change my life.
So I was committed to doing the uncomfortable things even when I didn't feel like it.
2. It helped me build an immense amount of self-confidence.
Why?
Because as you stop abandoning yourself with excuses, take responsibility for yourself and where you are in life and start showing up for yourself, you prove to yourself that you are capable of so much more than you gave yourself credit for.
3. It helped me create a stable foundation for me to grow on.
I've always been a free spirit and I thrive on allowing life to blow me towards whatever comes next, like a feather in the wind.
But even a feather needs direction.
Creating structure didn't take away my freedom.
It gave my freedom, intention.
4. It taught me to care for and to love who I am.
This doesn't happen overnight.
This takes time, patience and a whole lot of grace for yourself.
More often than we like to admit,
we are too busy hustling, taking care of everyone else or avoiding ourselves altogether that we neglect
our own mental, physical, emotional and spiritual health.
Our life experience isn't meant to be all about ourselves,
we're meant to love, to serve and to help others
but
we can't keep pouring from an empty cup.
♥️
Loneliness.
It's one of the most crippling feelings we can experience.
It's not exclusive to singles either; I see it in marriages too.
Married people tell me all the time they feel lonely in their marriages.
Loneliness is not about love.
Loneliness is about connection.
Connection are the times we spend with someone that when we leave our heart feels full.
Do you remember what a heart-full feeling feels like?
That is what so many are missing.
It's not just going and doing things, although that is one form of connection,
It's a deeper connection, it's vulnerability, authenticity and the silence in the togetherness and just being
It's remembering that we're all here together, walking each other home.
♥️
Someone can genuinely care about you and still not have the emotional capacity to sustain or build a relationship.
That relationship might be romantic.
It might also be a
friendship
parent/child or
a marriage
It doesn't mean the feelings aren't real though.
You can deeply love someone.
You can miss them.
You can long for connection.
You can want your relationship to work.
And still not have the emotional, mental, or nervous system capacity to consistently show up for what the relationship needs.
I know this because I've lived it.
There was a season in my life when I deeply wanted connection, yet I was still trying to find myself.
My heart longed for closeness, but I didn't have the capacity to build a healthy relationship.
Love is a feeling.
A relationship asks for something more.
The two are not always on the same page.
so the question can become,
Do we have the capacity to consistently invest in what we feel?

Summer has a way of convincing us we're relaxing;
the sunshine
holidays
weekend getaways
patios
days at the lake
Don't you find that you're still rushing around though?
planning,
packing,
hosting,
driving,
entertaining, and
carrying the invisible weight of everyday life.
The scenery changes but your nervous system doesn't.
It goes everywhere you go.
And sometimes, beneath all the summer fun, it's simply waiting to exhale.
My deep relaxation massage isn't just about easing sore muscles.
It's about giving your body a quiet space where it no longer has to stay alert so that
for just a little while, you can just let go and remember what it feels like to feel completely safe and relaxed.
I have openings this week and next.

Personally I've never believed this statement to be true,
'When you know better you do better'.
Here's why.
First, it creates shame
because it implies that if we continue with a behaviour, we're simply choosing not to do better and that's not true!
This creates a lot of self-judgement as well as judgement from those that believe we should be doing better.
But that's not how healing works.
The challenge isn't a lack of knowing,
It's your nervous system and the protective patterns that have been developed which have been in place for a long time.
And these are often stronger than your best intentions in the moment.
Awareness of a behavior doesn't immediately change your behavior
but over time,
it interrupts the autopilot long enough for you to choose differently.
And as you continue to heal, that pause becomes longer
Awareness creates choice, and
choice is where real change begins.
You don't ever need to force anyone to see it your way.
Have an opinion.
Have your perspective.
And share it.
And be open to hearing the opinions and perspective of others.
It doesn't mean you have to agree but it will develop understanding and compassion.

The Stages of Growth
Stage 1: Awareness
"I don't like the life I'm living."
You can't change what you haven't yet acknowledged.
Stage 2: Self-Love - (the biggest growth phase)
"I need to find myself."
You begin to come home to yourself beneath everyone else's expectations.
Stage 3: Self-Trust
"I no longer abandon myself."
You start keeping promises to yourself.
You choose what aligns with your values.
You trust yourself to figure things out.
Stage 4: Self-Leadership
"I can intentionally build the life I want."
Not a perfect life. A life that feels good.
Because the destination isn't perfection.
The destination is a life that feels aligned.
***********
This is spiritual growth.
It isn't about becoming someone new. It's about moving through these stages with love, compassion, and grace for yourself.
We move through these phases at our own pace.
And sometimes we need to revisit a stage more than once.
It's never a straight line and it can get very messy at times.
This is the work I love!
Helping people move through these phases.
If this sounds like you and are interested in learning more about I may be able to help you, send me a message or email me to [email protected].

Life is truly a gift. It can be hard, really really hard,
but still a gift.
If we can remember that we are here to experience growth through our experiences and then
begin to change what needs changing,
forgive what needs forgiveness,
releasing what no longer needs to be held,
we'll invite the people meant to walk beside us next and invite in the new experiences we are wanting to have.
Life will continue to life while you're not paying attention to how you are moving with it.
