A partial Lip Neutralization 🍊

Melanin rich lips come in many different values (levels of lightness and darkness). Whether it is a full or partial neutralization that is needed, it is important to remember that the primary goal first and foremost is to brighten and lift any visible darkness for a more uniform lip tone☝️

Although my client’s lips appear overall quite light in value, you could still see some dark, cool undertones showing through in some areas. Using corrector pigments is still a necessary step even in these cases where the lips don’t appear very dark. In instances where the melanin showing through is of lighter value, there is sometimes room for some flexibility allowing us to incorporate some of the client’s desired target colour🎯

In this particular case I was able to mix in a small ratio of her target bold red colour 🍎 While the majority of the ink cup was filled with a orange corrector pigment, her tattoo still healed into the most beautiful flush of warm red suiting her skintone perfectly👄

Another lip blush transformation done by me💉👄

My client decided to deepen the colour at touchup due to how natural (yet still so beautiful) the tattoo healed from the first session.

While the lips appear almost a candy apple red tone 🔎🍎 from the touchup session, they will not heal this way. This is because the main base colours used are a mix of a neutral-warm n**e and neutral pink with only a few drops of a deep red to add depth. The end result will be more brownie pink with a slight warm-neutral undertone.

Another goal was to create a more shapely and defined Cupid’s bow for my client 🏹 mission accomplished🎯

I had so much fun coming up with the perfect pigment combo, utilizing colour theory to achieve this unique lip shade to enhance my client’s gorgeous green eyes😍

In colour theory, the most complementary colour for each hue is located directly across from each other on the colour wheel. As surprising as this may sound, the most complementary colour to green happens to be red🎨

I customized a blushed brick red colour with strong n**e undertones that healed into a colour that not only suits my client’s green eyes and complexion beautifully, but is absolutely perfect for daily wear👄

Why do lash appointments take so long?⏱

A Volume Set can take up to 3 hours to complete. Each and every dimensional fan is handcrafted and customized on the spot to properly fit each of your natural eyelashes. We then will accurately and precisely isolate one of your natural lashes before we can even consider placing on the extension. Once we have the perfect isolation, we will lift the fan we created from the lash strip, dip it into a small amount of glue, and strategically position the fan onto your natural lash. Even the slightest body movement can cause us to lose the isolation or ruin the placement/direction of the extension. In this instance it needs to be removed and replaced. The average person has 90-150 lashes on each eye. We therefore repeat this process 90-150 times PER eye. It is meticulous work that requires time and precision and cannot be rushed🙏✨

Working with clients to customize their own perfect pigment blend according to their desire, and making tweaks when necessary to ensure that the colour will complement their skin tone is one of my most favourite parts of the process✨

One of the things I love so much about lip blushing is it’s versatility. Not only can it be done in a myriad of colours, shades and hues, but can also be done as translucent or opaque in coverage depending on what you are looking to achieve.

What is the difference between Classic and Volume lash extensions?

Like it’s name, Classic lashing is the most natural form of eyelash extensions. It involves the application of 1 extension to each of your own eyelashes. By applying a slightly thicker and longer extension to each natural eyelash, it will result in a “my lashes but better”, perfectly curled, mascara-like effect.

It is important to keep in mind that what Classic extensions WON’T do is add density and dimension to your lash line. Classic extensions will enhance only what is already there, and will look only as full as your own natural eyelashes. If you have naturally full lashes, Classic extensions are an excellent option and will prove to be very impactful, yet still natural. If your natural lashes happen to be on the sparser side, they will still appear sparse with a Classic set.

Volume lashing involves the application of multiple extra lightweight and thin extensions in the form of a dimensional fan to each natural eyelash. Volume extensions create the illusion of having more lashes than you actually have resulting in a fuller, denser enhancement to your lash line by overlapping each other and filling in gaps. It can also give you an eyeliner effect, further eliminating the need for eye makeup.

What I appreciate about Volume extensions is their versatility. Volume sets can be as natural or as full and dramatic to your liking by adjusting the number of extensions per fan. A set with 2-3D volume fans will result in a slightly fuller yet still natural look. A set with 5D+ volume fans will result in a more dense and glam look.

I’m obsessing over this colour and shape created for my client 😍 through this procedure we created a more defined Cupid’s bow 💘, gave her borders stronger definition, and brought the illusion of fullness with a gorgeous even hue👄

Downtime after a lip tattoo is a speedy 3-5 days. In these few days following the procedure, you may experience swelling, bruising, tenderness, extreme dryness, and of course the scabbing/peeling phase. It is imperative to keep your tattoo clean during this immediate healing stage to prevent infection.

Full healing takes 6 weeks for the deeper layers of your skin to recover fully, and for the pigment to completely settle into the skin revealing it’s final colour🌈
