Nature greeted me this morning with a refreshing breeze that smelled heavenly and a lone chickadee in the tree by my bedroom, cycling through its calls, to shatter the early stillness. A smile to me from nature, nudging a smile from me, to greet the day. The air still smells amazing, and though I wanted sun and warmth today, this is a gift. Good morning!

If this was your last day, would you wish this away, or would you let it take one of your last remaining breaths and fill you with awe instead?

Some days are busy and the only time to get out is for lunch. Homemade, gelatin rich chicken soup and a sunny forest path out of the wind...I'll take it!

Moved my brainstorming session outdoors today! Movement, natural light and scenery all support creativity, mood and the physical body.
While not all my work can be conducted in this way, batching creative work for a little outdoor time is such a welcome change and really helps shift thinking.

Sometimes you have to let the familiar go, if you want to continue to grow.
Hatching is hard work, and some species take days of cramped and tiring labour to break out of their shell... The shell that has been the only world they have ever known. The shell is both shield and sustenance. A rich garden that provides all the nourishment they need until they grow so much, that they no longer fit. What drives this hatching process? How can they be convinced to leave? A deep innate call, signals from the external world, and of course, discomfort.
Noticing our own discomfort can help us determine if, and what type of change may serve us too.
And though change can feel disorienting, hard, tiring and deeply uncertain, leaning into the growth experience that each step brings, can provide all the energy needed for the journey.

Today's meditation and writing time went much longer than usual (awesome!) and I sure was thankful that I keep batch prepped foods to ensure that I can savour both my meals and studies to their fullest potential.
Today's lunch was a turkey burger on arugula with tomato, avocado and a drizzle of hickory smoked olive oil.
Microgreens would have really taken this up a notch, as would a grass-fed cheese for those who tolerate it.
What's your favourite healthy meal habit?
