Hello beauties! with summer fast approaching temperatures are begging to rise. Here are a few tips and tricks to make sure your makeup stays looking flawless this summer!

Tip 1:
Make sure that during the summer months you use a moisturizer that contains SPF. It is extremely important to moisturize your face all year round in the summer we want to go the extra mile and not only hydrate the skin but protect it from the sun’s harmful rays.

Tip 2:
Primers, Primers, Primers! In the fall and winter we can get away with not always applying a primer to the skin before going in with foundation in our daily routines. Although in the summer primer is a MUST it will help do the usual fill in any fine lines and wrinkles as well as minimize pores, but most importantly especially during the hot summer months it will act as an adhesive and essentially help your foundation literally stick to your face allowing it to last longer throughout your day.

Tip 3:
Use a lighter consistency foundation. What I mean by that is try not to use heavy full coverage foundation, instead opt for tinted moisturizers or BB/CC creams. If you require the extra coverage ( like I do) use a small amount of consealer and dab onto the areas that need more coverage.

Tip 4:
Use cream products instead of powder. When we tend to sweat which we all do especially in the summer time powder products tend to run and sometimes even oxides, changing colors and just looking horrible. With cream products they blend into the skin as opposed to sitting on the skin eliminating these problems. Although it’s hard to stay away from them completely you can keep them to a minimum by using cream blushes and cream highlighters.

Tip 5:
Setting sprays are just as important as primers when it comes to heat proof makeup. Setting sprays are great to include in your summer makeup routine as they will help re-hydrate the skin after you have applied all of your makeup, help bring out the highlight you’ve applied, and most importantly help keep your makeup lasting all day long.

Trick: keep your setting spray stored in your fridge over night so that when you’re setting spray hits the skin it will feel cool and refreshing.

Tip 6:
Last but not least are blotting papers. Designed to remove excess oils that may rear they ugly head throughout the day especially if you are spending a lot of time outdoors, blotting papers are great thing to carry with you throughout the summer time.
