You know there’s a person behind it. You can see the small differences between batches. You can see the time and work that goes into making them.
That’s one of the things I like about making handmade soap in Ottawa. Every batch is made by me, in small quantities, using plant-based, vegan and cruelty-free ingredients.

I originally made this bar as a special edition, but I decided to dedicate it to Lake Ontario — because with everything happening south of the border, I felt very strongly that this was the right time to do it.
Lake Ontario is Lake Ontario. It is one of the five Great Lakes, shared by Canada and the United States, and the name has been used for centuries. I find it ridiculous that one individual can decide to call it something else.
So I’m keeping the name exactly where it belongs:
Beautiful Lake Ontario.
And this isn’t just a name on a label. This is a soap that is made entirely by me, by hand, in my small soap shop in Ottawa, Ontario.
Each batch is made in small quantities using plant-based ingredients. The soap is vegan and cruelty-free, with a light, fresh scent of lemongrass and lavender, finished with a touch of bergamot essential oil.
The scent is deliberately gentle — fresh and clean without being overpowering — making this a lovely everyday bar for anyone who prefers a more subtle scent.
