I’ve been slowly allowing myself time to do something I’ve always felt drawn to… painting.
In 2025, I took my first official art class with Kate Designs (highly recommend), and since then I’ve been exploring acrylics, oils, and often a mix of the two.
Makeup artistry and hairstyling have been my focus for years, and I still love what they can do. But as I get older, I’m realizing not everyone connects to makeup and hair the same way… while art has this beautiful way of bringing people together across all ages and backgrounds.
My dream of hosting in-person gatherings really started through painting. After completing a few classes with Kate, craving connection, I invited a group of women back to my home for coffee and snacks. That small moment turned into something I had hoped for.
We’ve now been meeting once a month. It’s an eclectic group of women of all different ages and backgrounds. One afternoon we even sat together knitting and crocheting, and my youngest daughter, who’s 23, joined us. That felt like such a gift.
There’s a kind of wisdom that shows up in small, open spaces like that. When people feel comfortable being themselves, something special happens. No pressure to dress up or be “on.” Just women showing up as they are.
I think we all reach points in life where we start asking…
Who do I want to be?
How do I want to live?
Who do I want to spend my time with?
I’m in that space now.
I don’t want to let go of makeup, but I do want to make room for other forms of creativity too.
I recently joined the North Grenville Artist Guild, hoping to connect with others who love art as much as I do. So this is me beginning to share more of that part of my life here. I’ll be posting my artwork alongside my makeup content and continuing to learn as I go.
Makeup has never been about perfection for me… and neither is painting.
It’s about expression, creativity, and connection.
My idea of a fulfilled life is sharing space with curious people who want to create, learn, and be together.
Today feels like the beginning.

We walked through the store sharing our honest thoughts on some of the most talked-about products right now… what we love, what we question, and what might actually be worth it.
I had so much fun filming this. Watching Laura and Kayla get excited reminded me of how I used to feel in my 20s—so curious, so eager to try everything.
Now at 54, my priorities (and my taste) have shifted… and I think that really comes through in this video.

Sephora
Sharing some of my most used products at Sephora for their Spring Saving Event.
We need to normalize creasing and stop expecting so much from ourselves… and from our makeup.
I was looking at my concealer like… “okay, yes… you crease.”
But here’s the thing… you can’t even see it unless I literally pull my skin down to find it
I have to go looking for the problem.
Meanwhile, I’m over here expecting it to just sit there perfectly while my face… moves?
That’s not how this works.
I’m 54. This is normal.
Nothing has gone wrong… my face just isn’t frozen.
And honestly… I don’t want it to be.
As we get older, our natural lip line tends to fade, and the shape of our mouth changes due to loss of skin elasticity and volume. However, this doesn't have to be viewed negatively - it's all about perspective.
