Can we talk abour grief for a moment.

This is a picture of me and my Grandpa and one of our birthdays, we were exactly 50 years and 5 days apart so often we would celebrate together. This year I turned 24, this was my 2nd birthday without him and it felt different. I was lucky enough to spend my birthday with my family in Midland, and we had a wonderful time but I think sometimes we get so wrapped up in the moment it takes a while for the grief of those moments to come up.

I think as a hairstylist this is even more different. I have to compartmentalize those feelings and put on a happy face and I think sometimes we get so good at it we choose not to open that box until it's overflowing and we have no choice.

I miss him dearly and coming up on our 3rd christmas without him is difficult. I still think to text him something funny, or I see a Tiktok that I know he would laugh at, I hope he sees them, I hope he can feel our love and gratitude for everything and I hope he is happy.
