So here it is!

Bare with me while I explain myself a bit before we get to the good stuff...

I hated that I had to admit that I was burnt out. I was more anxious most days than not, to the point I couldn't even enjoy my own work results or the people in my chair. I was miserable because I was forcing myself through panic attacks even with people right in front of me, sometimes silently and sometimes I couldn't control them. I would cry every day before work hoping I would get through it without embarrassing myself by "freaking out" infront of a stranger. Sometimes I would have to give myself a pep talk that I was fine when I heard someone come in the laneway.

Most of you know I have panic disorder and anxiety attacks from time to time. I've had them since I was 16 years old. They're debilitating and embarrassing. Being over worked, over stimulated and stressed trying to grow the salon definitely took a huge toll on my mental health.

The only way to make it all stop was to make myself stop. I quit. I had 1 final panic attack during a haircut and I said I'm not doing it anymore. For over 3 months now I haven't done hair. For the first time since I was 5 years old I do not care about it. I will get back to it, but right now I don't know when.

I still love to be creative, to make something that people are excited about. I'm really working to get back into the salon but right now I'd like to introduce to you my newest passion:

With the help of some really special local lady entrepreneurs (shout out to Love Me Long Time Boutique and SamK) I have built the site myself and will be able to build more as interest picks up. I have a few things right now to offer and hope you guys like them!

Please be patient with me as I'm new to online sales but I really want to make this work! To save shipping cost (because holy moly are they expensive!) I have created a coupon "LOCAL" for anyone who would like to pick up at the salon or have delivery within Owen Sound for free. I know everyone is waiting for me to return to work (some more patiently than others). I read the mesaages, I feel the pressure and I totally get your frustration.
Im not sure I even need to explain myself but right now I am really struggling with my mental health (panic disorder, anxiety/depression). As many of you know this has been a lifelong issue for me. Noone is more concerned about me than me so please trust me when I say I'm trying to get better. Every day is a fight with myself, sometimes I win and sometimes I barely get out of bed.
I know mental health issues hit home with a lot of my clients so I won't trigger anyone with my problems but just know I think of you all every day. More than a few of you come in to help with your mental health and body dismorphia issues and I truly am sorry that I am not there for you right now. It weighs on me more than you all know. I appreciate all of the nice messages (I do see them even if I dont respond), the flowers that have been dropped off and the offers of friendly voices to talk to. I will recover from this, I just need a bit more time 🖤

In the meantime, I do have retail available for pick up and it helps pay our bills when I can't be behind the chair. If anyone is interested in purchasing, just let me know.
