Steven’s Hairstyling journey began over twenty years ago when he completed his training at Woodford Training Centre. He worked in some of the top salons in St John’s, honouring his talent and securing his reputation as one of the top hair stylists in the city.

Steven prides himself on being on-trend, using the latest cutting and coloring techniques in the industry. For over a decade he has passed this knowledge onto his students at the Woodford Training Centre.
His career has included many awards, photo shoots featured in Canadian Hairdresser Magazine, being a contestant on Canada’s Super Star Hairstylist, and acting as a hair and fashion consultant on Canadian television productions. He was hired by L’Oréal Professional as a platform artist teaching hair stylists the latest trends and techniques in the field.

Steven solidified his reputation for excellence as owner of the Athena by Anstey Salon and Spa
from 2010 to 2020 where his clients availed of the lavish service offered by this Master Stylist and his team. Steven has now embarked on the next chapter of his career with the creation of the new Head Office Salon, which he co-owns and operates with his husband Alejandro Garcia .His ultimate goal is to use his passion, expertise and talent to provide his clients with not just a trip to the salon, but a first class experience tailored to each individual. This encore performance will be his most exciting yet.

Alex was born and raised in Mexico City. In 2002 he moved to Puerto Vallarta working in the service industry for seven years. He is bilingual, speaking Spanish and English

In 2008 he moved to Newfoundland and began managing some of the top salons in St. John’s. Over the next six years his passion for hair styling flourished while watching the artistic creations of many talented stylists. In 2014 he joined the Hair Styling Apprenticeship Program at the Woodford Training Centre.

Following his training Alex has enjoyed building clientele as a stylist at Athena by Anstey Salon and Spa. He completed the Red Seal Certification for Hairstyling and recently signed on as a Mentor with Goldwell, broadening his creativity while staying on trend with the latest cuts and colors in the industry.
