Tonight feels a little heavier.

When I started Chloe’s Hair Affair, mom and I were storming up ideas for my business cards and we decided Dolly should have a little part in it. The back of my business card has one of my favourite Dolly quotes.

“I think the most important thing a woman can have next to talent, of course—is her hairdresser”

It felt so fitting because Dolly understood that being a hairdresser went beyond just doing hair. We don’t just do hair. We listen, we celebrate our clients biggest moments and sometimes sit with them through the hard ones. Dolly was truly a girls girl and I loved that about her.

She made being yourself something to be proud of. She showed women that you can be successful without stepping on anyone else to get there.

To all the women who loved Dolly, sang along to her songs, admired her hair, her heart, her humour, or the way she made the world feel a little kinder. I think a little piece of all our hearts is hurting tonight.

Thank you Dolly for being exactly who you were and for being a part of Chloe’s Hair Affair from the very beginning. You’ll always have a seat in my salon. ♥️🪽
