Just another day hanging with my guy Jon😎 .
While it's all fun and good energy at the salon, Jon has recently experienced a tragedy. He lost his home and possessions to a fire on Sept 5th. I got a call from Jon the following day (my birthday, which I said I was going to go m.i.a but I answered, and I'm glad I did). I had to get him in cause as the saying goes "we ain't go look like what we feel like" . But Jon needs a bit more help to rebuild and start over. Today is a day of acknowledging the displacement and trauma of indigenous children in the residential school system. Tortured and traumatized children who were then expected to lead normal lives if they SURVIVED. Sending healing and light to our indigenous kin.
Educate to Eradicate Ignorance.

My SBF It's my birthday 😊 I feel so grateful for all of you. As I get settled into my 30's (surprise ! I'm not 21,22 or 23 😅😅 that's how old the kids think I am) I am deeply grateful and humbled by the love & support from my Sammy's Braids Family. You guys have been rocking with me for 9 years! From pre-salon, to transitioning with me to my salon spaces in the past 3 years. I had a fulfilled year mostly because of you guys; the laughs ,the tears, the failures and triumphs! You guys are always a HUGE part of what my year looks like, so as I transition into a new one, I am so happy to know you will be right there with me.🫶🏽
