Retinol has been having a moment for a while now. But most people think it works by exfoliating your skin. It doesn’t.

It’s vitamin A, and once your skin converts it, it binds to receptors inside your cells telling them to turn over faster and produce more collagen. That’s a signaling process, not a physical exfoliant.

That’s also why the flaking and irritation happens. Your skin isn’t being damaged, it’s adjusting to new instructions ⏳

The real key isn’t finding the strongest formula. It’s finding the percentage you can use every night without your skin revolting 🌙 Consistency wins this one.

Science, not hype. Always. ✨

One question I get all the time is why my microneedling aftercare is a little different.

My philosophy is simple: support your skin while it does what it was designed to do.

Microneedling works by creating controlled micro-injuries that trigger your body’s natural wound-healing response. That early inflammatory phase is an important part of the process—it helps signal collagen production and skin remodeling. My goal isn’t to shut that response down, but to support healthy healing while protecting the skin barrier.

That’s why my aftercare focuses on gentle cleansing, hydration, barrier support, and minimizing unnecessary irritation.

Every provider has their own protocol, and there isn’t just one “right” way to approach aftercare. This is simply the evidence-informed approach that aligns with my skin-first philosophy and has worked well for my patients.

(This is a simplified explanation of a complex wound-healing process, and aftercare should always be individualized based on your skin, treatment intensity, and your provider’s recommendations.)

That’s better. 🤍

Never been a better time to freshen up with some tox.

If you’ve ever felt like your tox was too heavy or you didn’t like the way it felt, I think we should chat. I specialize in natural movement and feeling fresh without feeling frozen. 💉🥰

If you’ve seen Hannah Berner’s viral video about her smile after Dysport, here’s my take…

A smile like that isn’t something we expect to see, but it is a known potential complication of neuromodulators.

The good news? While no treatment is completely risk-free, there are steps that can help reduce the likelihood of this happening—understanding facial anatomy, choosing injection sites carefully, using appropriate dosing, and taking a conservative approach.

This is exactly why your choice of injector matters. Cosmetic injections aren’t just about the product—they’re about the knowledge and technique behind it.

✨ My goal is always natural, balanced results while respecting the way your face was designed to move.

What two years at Graham Medical Aesthetics have taught me… 🤍

The biggest challenge isn’t finding skincare or treatments.

It’s knowing what’s actually right for you.

Over the past two years, I’ve met so many women who feel overwhelmed by products, trends, and conflicting advice. They’ve spent money without ever having a real plan.

That’s why this next chapter is all about helping you understand your skin.

✨ Honest recommendations.
✨ Evidence-based care.
✨ Personalized Skin Roadmaps.
✨ Healthy skin first.

Because great skin shouldn’t be guesswork.

Thank you for trusting me over the past two years. 🤍 I can’t wait to celebrate with you throughout July and share everything I’ve been working on.

Healthy Skin Starts With a Plan.

Two years of prepping skin for weddings, bachelorettes, holidays & big birthdays has taught me one thing: timing is everything. Here’s the timeline I swear by 👇

⏳ Botox — 4–6 weeks before
Peaks around 2 weeks, but the extra buffer leaves room for a touch-up once it settles.

⏳ Microneedling — 1–2 weeks before
A day or two of redness, maybe some flaking, then the glow shows up.

⏳ Lip filler — 3–4 weeks before
Swelling and bruising are real early on, and lips keep settling for weeks. Buffer = a touch-up if you want it.

⏳ IPL — 2–4 weeks before
Spots darken to “coffee grounds” and flake off over 1–2 weeks. Done and gone before photos.

⏳ Cryo (mole/skin tag/sun spot removal) — 4–6 weeks before
Needs the most patience — it scabs, falls off, then fresh skin needs time to blend. Don’t rush this one.

Golden rule: when in doubt, book earlier. Healing varies, and you never want to be cutting it close before your big day.

Got an event on the calendar? Save this so you book everything on time — and DM me to map out your plan 💌

One of the reasons I’ve always taken a skin-first approach is because complexion is about so much more than a single wrinkle, pore, or dark spot.

When I create a treatment plan, I’m not just looking at one concern—I’m looking at the overall health and quality of the skin. Things like hydration, barrier function, pigmentation, collagen production, redness, and texture all play a role in the complexion you see in the mirror.

That’s why you’ll often hear me talk about skin health before specific treatments. Whether it’s skincare, IPL, microneedling, or injectables, my goal is always the same: improve the foundation first.

A healthy, even complexion isn’t created by one product or one treatment. It’s built through consistency, evidence-based care, and a plan that’s tailored to your skin.

Because when skin is healthy, it tends to look brighter, smoother, more radiant—and that’s what most people are really looking for.

✨ Skin first. Complexion follows.

What do you think has the biggest impact on your complexion?
