I would like to introduce myself. I am Elijah Crawford, the owner of Turtle Island Plant Company. I am a mixed-ancestry Indigenous person with my Indigenous roots coming from Curve Lake First Nation. I am a teacher, archaeologist, artist, musician, and much more!

My desire to create this company came as the result of a reconnection with harvesting practices my ancestors practiced. In my work in archaeology I have encountered poison ivy many times! After failed attempts to remedy the issue with over the counter medication, some personal connections led me to creating my first product, the jewelweed salve, which I currently produce.

All of my ingredients are either harvested myself following protocols I have been giving teachings on, or sourced from local Canadian owned/operated businesses. I strongly believe that the land can heal, and I hope to share some of that healing with you.
