Not posting much these days because, well, work and life have been busy! Mostly good busy, but we are also catching all the bugs in this house in 2023. Getting them out of the way I say… 🫠😵‍💫

Anyhow, I want to thank you for all of your trust. Treating you is a privilege I take very seriously. I vow to always give you honesty which is still rare in an field that has a history of being pushy and “sales-y”. I always wanted to be a runner.

I knew it felt good for me.
I loved how my mind felt after each run.
I remembered loving it as a kid and a teen.

But things always got in the way of me doing it consistently as an adult.

Weather.
Time.
Knee pain.
Thinking I just wasn’t built for it…

So last year I changed my mindset. I set some goals. I took a “learn to run” course and joined the wonderful folks at the 🙌🏼

Today I ran my first 15 km race and am proud to officially call myself a runner 😊

It is never too late. Figure out what you want to achieve and go do it 👊🏼 💥

🤔 “How do I know which botox to use?”

Simple answer: I’ll help you 👩🏼‍⚕️

All brands of neuromodulator/toxin approved in Canada 🇨🇦 have the same active ingredient: botulinum toxin. In some respects they may be considered interchangeable.

There are some subtle differences among the brands and my patients however, that make me more likely to use one over the other.

These include:

✅ how they are formulated
✅ the results they produce
✅ where I’m using them (anatomic location)
✅ who I’m using them on (patient characteristics)

In addition to improving the appearance of wrinkles, frown lines, neck cords, and overall skin texture, botulinum toxin A can also be used both on and off-label to treat:

Who’s ready?! 🫣

🙌🏼 Nobody “needs” it 🙌🏼 : This is an elective procedure. If you want plumper lips that’s ok. We all have wants. But are you making decisions from a place of self love, or loathing? If it’s the latter please find a counsellor and start talking before injecting ❤️‍🩹

💉 Prioritize safety 💉 : Ensure your injector has the right training, credentials and experience. Remember this is a “low risk” procedure, not a “no risk” procedure.

🤔 Find an injector who’s beauty outlook aligns with yours 🤔 : If you want natural looking results find someone who agrees. Hint: do they prioritize a natural looking result for themselves? We are setting an example for our patients.

ℹ️ It’s not permanent ℹ️ : Lip fillers last 8-12+ months depending on the person and how much we inject. There are always outliers.

⛰ You can add on incrementally ⛰ : You don’t need to reach your optimal volume after one treatment. In fact, if you add on incrementally over time (my preferred approach) it often looks more natural.

💒 Timing is everything 💒 : Give yourself time (minimum 2 weeks) before a big event (wedding, graduation etc).

👄 Results are instant 👄 : but change slightly in the first 2 weeks. You will be swollen at first. Things will settle over the next few days.

💵 Average cost 💵 : ranges between $350 - $700 per treatment depending on your goals, lip shape etc.

👩🏼‍⚕️ Common side effects 👩🏼‍⚕️ : swelling, tenderness, and bruising are common. You should discuss less common side effects with your practitioner before you proceed.

↔️ It’s reversible ↔️ : If you dislike the results, hyaluronic acid filler can be dissolved.
